Does this fit easily onto the left frame mount models? Good writeup, thanks.
Today, I fitted my SH847 and the whole installation was pretty straight forward and not a problem. The only questions remain about the position it will be fitted. The three yellow cables coming from the stator were not very long because the previous owner had already replaced the stock reg/rec and also the cables. My added three yellow cables were also not that long (30cm) as I hadn't anticipated this to happen. So this is the only position the SH847 will fit on my bike with the cables:

A few questions:

It touches the rear fairing, is that okay?

Will it be okay to mount it only with the top screw through the steel plate on the frame of the bike and a couple of cable binders?

Also, the SH847 doesn't fully touch the back plate, only at the sides:

I understand that the heat should dissipate to the frame and a bigger contact area would be ideal but as the SH847 should not run hot anyways, will this be a problem?

Alternatively, I would have to order more cables and extend the yellow cables even more and find a better position.

Also fitted the rear raising shim today and love the effect of it!

Thanks so much for all the amazing info provided on this forum!

Made a bracket that tips the regulatorat an angle away from the frame at the bottom. This allows me to mount the unit a bit farther forward and doesn't touch the fairing at all.

This is a much better solution!

Still, do you think it's fine the way I did it or will it be a problem?

Also, it's interesting that the plate on your frame has this round hole on the right side, mine only has this hole on the right side.

It should be fine it doesn't create that much heat. But you can check it after it's been running for a bit.
