Silicone hose, resistant to brake fuid?

My newly acquired vacuum brake bleed kit has what looks like clear pvc tubing supplied therein. I have some silicone tubing of a similar size that fits the nipple on the gun and collection cup more securely, additionally being very supple would make the process far easier as the pvc tubing is quite stiff...will this silicone be ok to use with DOT 4 does anybody know? :idunno:

I use silicone hose on mine that is supposedly brake fluid compatible. As you're not using the hose long term i shouldn't think it matters. Long term use is supposed to make the hose sweat. One thing to watch on the vacuum pump is air being pulled past the nipple threads. I remove mine and put a couple of turns of PTFE round them. Also watch the hose doesn't keep slipping off the nipple. As you pump the hose moves about and keeps coming off. I use a small hose clamp and tighten it on the nipple.
That's good....silicone will make it so much easier to use, I've got some s/s clips specifically for that size hose so will take heed! Not going to tackle brakes just yet so thought I'd cut my teeth on the clutch as a trial. Also the fittings designed for going over the caliper nipple don't fit on that well, the hose itself is a tighter fit?!
