You doing your own powder coating Chris?
Yes and No Al. I am doing all the prep work, then take the bits to matey's powder coating business, hang them up myself, powder them myself, let them go through the oven cycle, then take them off and pack them up myself. In other words I use the equipment that I could not own lol.
Matey also only charges me minimal money for this. For instance 3x bike frames, with swingarms, bits and bobs like trees pegs etc (like in the pics), only paid 120 bucks for. That was 3 colours as well. :)
Sand blasting I also do all the prepwork and then let another matey take care of the shooting for me. Same thing he only charged me 120bucks for the above parts!
Its GREAT to have friends non?
:)

Oh and here are some pics of the latest project I am working on.
KXT250B2, 1987 vintage, the last of the "braves".
Boy oh boy you are in trouble if you think you can actually ride these. (unless you can REALLY ride these!)
Not only will it flip you over, but it will flip on top of you to finish you off! :D
Here's some pics after the powder coating I done yesterday.

Seriously, Chris, you need to come over here and open a shop. Hell, you can work out of MY shop until you find a place if you'll make my bike as pretty as yours.

Hehe, cheers fellows, your comments are much appreciated. :)

Al this is like 1/3 of the parts. Also coated the bits from my RMX250 (1998) and my KDX200SR (1991) at the same time. Took like 4-5 hours to do the coating. The day before my other mate (also called Chris) stayed till 1 am to help finish blasting the bits with me. And we had to get up at 6 in the morning to go work water blasting some church. That is what mates do for you. ;)

Shew thanks buddy. You got a heart of got Brother. I should take you up on that actually, but I just cant let go of my birthplace just yet. Actually I reckon that doing civil engineering work I can do much better. This is a side hobby anyways. ;) Having said that I am now over 3 years unemployed and it fricking reecks...
I would sure like to be able to finish a project without having to care for the financial side of things. Like make it as good as I could. Not as good as money allows.. ;)

Pete oh the irony indeed! :p
I dont find these! They seem to find me! :p That RM125 I rebuilt was in a stable in some random village in a mountain stored for over 15 years! The KXT was "forgotten" in matey's bike shop for over 5 years and the KDX200 I am also currently building was not used by a mate for 5 years too. All seem to cross my path for one reason or the other... And I feel pity for them... :p

Again thanks guys. I <3 you all. :)
