just wondering what speed are most people comfortable cruising at on the more boring long hiway sections,i realise local laws and policing will have a huge effect on this?
depending on these conditions i seem to usually ride at 125kmph-145kmph or 80-90 mph, dont have to concentrate to hard and fast enough to cover some distance without getting too boring. black 06 black bird
your thoughts please

yeah about the 125 KPH

Depends on the speed limit..

I try to stay under the 15Kph over so that if mr plod catches me then the fine and point loss is lower..

That is of course unless im following nutter then it can be upto 150kph over..

I just got back from a very relaxing ride on a beautiful evening. I took the highway out of town and rode the back roads back. I find with my setup a comfortable cruising speed is between 130 and 160kmph while a relaxed cruising speed on back roads is between 110 and 120kmph.

I believe a welcome is also in order, so welcome from Canada.

85 mph in 5th is it. But if you get caught going over 80 its an automatic $200 on top of anything else they dream up. It's hard to stay under 80.

1. Enter the speed (or distance) in KPH or MPH
2. Choose the required conversion in the drop down box.
3. Click on Calculate for your speed conversion results!

Speed in either KPH or MPH Convert from/to 85 mph

Your calculated speed is -> 136.79 kph

In my local riding area, 200 km radius, it too risky to hang at 140+kph. Too many RCMPs. It I'm really out of town, no problem but I'm always on the look out for the Man and that's why I use radar. Also when out of town, it's in the mnts.

Here in NY they have upped the surcharges for tickets so pretty much any speeding ticket is out of my price range right now. Whenever I'm on the NY thruway I just chose the fastest car or group of cars and stay behind them. It's usually in the 75-90 MPH range on that road. On the other interstate I frequent on I usually won't go over 80, coppers are everywhere around here and love pulling anyone over they can to pay the state.

Had the front windows tinted on my Explorer for 3 years, get pulled over twice in 2 weeks by highway cops and have to take it off a few months ago.
