Hi all, I got my '03 Bird last fall with about 300 miles on it and have been running standard Honda Dino oil ever since. Now she's got a little over 6,000 miles on the clock and it's time for oil and filter again. I have been thinking of making the switch to synthetic but I'm not sure if I should wait for the next change.
Do you all think it's too soon or would you say she is fully broken in?

Agree, not too early. But if you have worried go semi for a change or two then go full. That's what I did but after greater milage. I've been using Motul 7100 for a while now.

The bike was broken in before you got it...put whatever oil in it you see fit.

Manufacturer break-in periods exist for one reason: if there is a manufacturing defect that will cause a catastrophic failure, it is likely to happen in the very beginning of use. If that is the case, they want the failure to happen when you are being careful, and whne the motor is at low RPM (this minimizes the damage and the likelihood of collateral damage).
