Stock bike jet kit

Hi all!
Last day I found in a web site a dynojet stage1 kit for carbed Bird. In the specification says that it works fine on bikes with stock exhaust and filter. This is what it says:
-STAGE 1 Kits: to use with stock pipe and stock air filter, even with BMC or K&N air filter too. Stage 1 kits are designed to improve throttle response and driveability and in most cases power increases of approximately 5% throughout the entire power range can be achieved.
Does it worth?
Thanks!!

I’m really testing the memory here after being less active on the site for months but…. The Dynoman Jet kit may be somewhat problematic in some cases. I the members mention that the replacement needles tend to wear the emulation tubes over time. DJ have a different tuning mindset that includes drill the slides to effect quicker opening etc. after a lot of reading on site was not so much a fan of their kits, but that’s just me. Having found a 4-2-1 Tiforce pipe I went with the Factory Pro jet kit which is more about simple jet changes to suit a pipe and maybe a race type air filter. I posted the FP kit details on site years ago. So, having said all that I ended up leaving everything stock, lol! My 1998 machine has not missed a beat having done nothing but basic maintenance , imagine that. As 65 yrs approaches I’ve become less inclined to do much in the way of “bolt on performance mods to any of my vehicles. I know younger people enjoy modding, beware, some can cause more trouble than they are worth. Even a air filter change can upset the balance of things on a carb’s Bird !

I can say your memory is good again. The emulsion tube issues were a problem with the DJ kits and yes they did have you drill the slides bleed hole.

Check the Dynojet sight they should have the instructions in a PDF. Using those you can check to see if the slides were indeed drilled. They should be 1.5mm if they were your not lost. You can epoxy the holes closed and red drill to the stock size.

Another memory: the Dyno Jet kits use their own jet numbering system so do not assume that the stock Keihin jet sizing will relate to the DJet jet sizes, at least that is the way it use to be. Again the memory test: Bird main jet sizes are 140 for cylinders #1 and #4. And 142 for cylinders #2 and #3. This is to help the two inboard cylinders run cooler due to less ambient airflow over them, so the story goes.
Factory Pro use standard Keihin jet sizes for tuning, why mess with success.

Hi TigreST!!
Thanks for your answer and help. Beestoys and you were right with dynojet, there are some members with problems with needles wear. Reading your message I think I will let stock. I was a bit sceptical thinking a jet kit could make a hughe change on a exhaust and air filter stock bike. But always thinking making mods to the bike, lol.. Sometimes is better leave it as is.
