Aliexpress knock off...

Well for starters although not really necessary, plan on keeping power to my cam set up and constant power to my Pactalk Bold Comm system. That would leave me with one extra USB to spare AND my red Honda accessory button...
What are you planning to power up? Thems alot of buttons you got there son!! LOVE the cruise control! That too is coming in very near futur! Well B4 next season! That's the plan!

Ooh, not seen that one b4. Good spot.
I have my
1. heated seat (which has power buttons on the seat but I wish to have them up more conveniently near bars)
2. under windscreen solar panel to connect/ disconnect
3. electric folding mirrors
4. mirror heaters
5. camera system
6. disc lock reminder warning light
7. USB isolation switch
8. Voltmeter on/off
9. Bluetooth phone mouse (for satnav interaction eith gloves on)
10. Cruise control

If I decide I need/ want any or all of them I either add them to:
a) the bars (buttons re perch bolts, or bar rap around or added to switch gear OEM style or pistol grip pressure switches or clutch/ brake cylinder mounted) or
b) the dash (e.g. like my dash mock up project)
131854

Or
c) infil panel mounted

Each location has pros n cons. Bars are easiest to reach but clutter the bars unless you find an OEN switch with extra buttons (I have bar extenders ready if I go wrap around route and need more real estate). Dash means taking a hand off the bars if it's for a button I'm likely to want to press while moving and potentially make taking the dash cover on and off more tricksome. Panel inserts are a compromise location but spoil the clean lines.

Wow! Ya I remember this! Frankin NOICE! Slamin! Well IMHO, I'd go for the 2 M- Mini swithches! OR the Ali knock off. Right there at yur tips, 6 functions! Neat, partialy conceald and obiviously U can have them on one bar or split them up! Now... If yur a mad man, you'll get 4 M Mini switches 2 for each bar giving you 12 functi!

Lolol Yep! Done in one foul swoop! I have to admit the M Mini are aesthetically better looking than Ali knock offs... You'd have EVERTHING at yur finger tips! 12 functions!!! Woohooo!

Hey Malo I'm sure ya noticed the Ali knock off offer 4 buttons. Soooo... That be 16 fonctions! Lololol There's no such thing as "Overkill" when it comes to Malo! Just practicality!😁 In all seriousness, 16 functions is incredible! No limit as to what you could add! Albeit one MUST be "constantly" aware of what was tuned on AND the power required to run it... Hence having both a volt and amp meter displayed in yur face would be essential.

I'm loving the knock off for the full choice of momentary v latched switches. I wonder if I could strip the switches out and embed them in my current OEM switchgear.

Have ypu come across these jobbies:
MMmmm... You could! Albeit would be alot of work! But doable... No! Haven't seen these B4! But alas! I really want to keep my clip on "clean" of stuff.

Hello Fellow Fighter Pilots! Hope y'all are well in these incredible times! So far I've put in around 400 hrs of work since Nov 2020 and about $3000 Have alot of hours to go yet and $$$!!! All told, $6,000 would have gone into this beautiful machine! Beestoys! Gonna be a knockin at yur door soon! For that AMAZING cruise control! That is if you're still willing to make one... Plus a bajillion hours of blood, sweat and tears! Well not all tears! lol Below are pics of screen install of the front fender and nose cone. The Bird can "hold" 11 grills. JAWS had a few on hand. However just side panel lowers... So 3 grills. So was lucky enuff to find some grills at work matching JAWS grill(Without the shine)so will need to fabricate the other 8 grills...

Lovin,

Great work as ever!

Re grills, if she's an FI some suggest not to add grills on the ram air ports (turbulance potentially causing problems). If she's a carbie (like mine), I drilled the iriginal grill rivets out and replaced the grill mesh to match the other ports via their iriginal grill mounts.

The other tweak to my grills I'm still wirking on is to make the lhs tail grill a hinged (sprung shut) version, to still allow use of the liftimg handle when panniers off and centerstand being deployed.

Just thoughts for my penny's worth.

Thank's mate! Yeah I've heard of this B4... That being said, I've never notice a diff in performance with the front nose grills. It may be so subtle that I don't notice. I mean ZERO performance diff from what I can tell. No lag, no chugging or burping nothing...

As per usual, LOVE yur ideas! spring shut grill! LOVE IT! Would you mind if I build one!? As per usual will have plenty of pics!

Nose cone RUBBERIZATION! The tail section will be the last part to rubberize. The side lowers will have aluminum heat shields.

Finish product looks pretty good! Now, the challenge to make vent tube opening slightly larger to accommodate grill AND glue... Will need to cut off vent tubing end and custom form some hard foam the to match vent increase in overall size.

Hey Malo! Was thinking about yur idea for hinged grill for grab rail... Not sure will have to check unless U already done so. Will the grill hit the rail? In either direction? Hinge up or hinge down?

Mate… go for it. Hinged sounded more pragmatic than "slide" open/ closed

Nope, not done so yet. Only recently had my panniers off again to consider it. Yer may need to be a combined mech (slide slightly to clear the handle then hinged to access the lift)?

Okay, so took a look and place tail section end on the bike... Unfortunately it's a no can do for both hinged and sliding grill. Sliding grill would have worked partially. Hinged would hit grab rail. The sliding grill would have partially work. The inside of the opening is NOT flush and is partially bulbous making is difficult to slide over. AND not enuff space for the grill to slide over safely without poking out beyond the cowling. Great idea! But unfortunately not feasible. We tried!

We're not falling at the first hurdle bro…
a) concertina (length-wise)
b) silicon clear flexible membrane with grill painted on it
c) mod the handle to give some clearance
d) a.n.other off the wall creation (touch sensitive grill that when stationary automatically deploys centre stand and hydrallically stand mounts the the bike) etc
e) can we rig something to tge centrevetand that when we liwer it with our foot the grill is relocated clearing the handle (Im thinking concertina here)

Lolol Something told me you'd wouldn't accept "No" as an answer! Concertina... MMMmmm interesting! B) sounds good but wouldn't "look" real. C) Mod the handle would work! Albeit yur talking welding Their might be issues with trying to get a good grip. BUT it may be possible to move it on top the frame as opposed to side of the square tubing of the frame... D) Yep! Off the wall! But love it! E) Possible!?
