When I try to start bike everything cycles but pump won't prime it just keeps running but issue is spark when I hit starter button I get one spark and nothing else also when I turn key off I get a spark what have I done wrong everything is new it's a 2000 cbr 1100 xx super black bird and I really wanna ride it but I am at my whitts end with this thing

Everything is new? Not sure what that entails but could be a crossed wire somewhere from reassembly.

First off, is battery good and charged up and connections clean and tight?

Normal operation is thus: Turn key on, pump should whirr to life (prime) for 5-6 seconds, then turn off. Dash lights and headlight on. FI light comes on, then goes off. With RUN/STOP switch ON and bike in neutral, push starter button. Headlight is turned off and starter motor is engaged at same time by the starter button.

If this doesn't happen, either you have some crossed wires (see 1st line) or potentially sticky starter switch. Try spraying electrical contact cleaner nozzle thru gaps in switch.
Do same for other handlebar switches.

If no luck, check back and we will keep digging. If you are unsure, post pics of offending part.

I'm gonna pull wire harness apart and check everything for the third time and see what jumps out at me I got the bike from my son after it scared him everything is new except the harness he bought one from offline and it has a plug on it that is different from the one that was on it which ain't saying much some crack head had a field day with the harness that was on it when he got it he got it started and rode it twice and it scared him enough to pawn it off on me now I'm playing witch wire goes where I got everything to work except for spark and my fuel pump won't prime I can turn my key on and hit the starter button and get one spark and that's it also when I cut the key off I get a spark my batt is new stator and rr are new pulsers are new only thing missing when I got the bike was fuel pump someone needed it more than I did I'm gonna try the harness again I'll let you know the outcome

What year bike? There are 2 FI models, with slightly different looms. 1 model has analog dash 1999/2000, other has digital dash 2001 on.

So,
1. Analog or digital dash?
2. How many total wires are there in 2 loom plugs going into ECU ?

This should say if you have correct loom.

14 gray plug 16 black plug if that is what your asking
This is a loom from an analog dash 1999/2000 model. If your bike has a digital dash then something is not right as 2000 USA models all had analog dash AFAIK.
Can someone else help, what are tell tale signs of later model to check and confirm bike's heritage?

How many wires go to the ECU on the old discarded loom?

It sounds to me like the bike is actually a 2001 model (digital dash) but your son bought a replacement loom from a 2000 model (analog dash) based on the (incorrect?) title description.

If your son was previously riding it with the old loom, then I'd assume old loom is the correct one. So can i ask why did you replace the old loom?

Someone before him had butchered it up the loom fix was garbage so he gets the idea to buy a harness to make things look better with all the new parts and body ferings hell he should have just bought a new harness but you can't tell these kids nothing now a days he spent all his money on everything else but a new harness now looks like I'm gonna have to spend my money to finish his project I thought I would be able to put it all back together and sell it but I might have to keep it after all the fancy parts and body kit he has bought for it

If it's a US 2000 the original color would be titanium. With analog gages. Does the harness you now have contain a big grey connector for the injectors coils map and ait sensor midway up the bike under the tank
