Hello Y'all! I have just had a recent tragedy in my life...some woman backed into my baby and pushed her onto the right side. The insurance company decided to total the bike but I am intending on buying it back from them (keeping the title clean), and repairing the damages myself. I have spent a few days looking around the internet trying to figure out where to find my plastics. I need a right front side (passenger side), front cowel and possibly a front fender. The bike is a 1997 and as all of you know, black ;). I have found some full kits from Hong Kong for about $300 us dollars but the shipping is nearly the same. Does anyone know of anywhere better to go, or cheaper to buy?

Regards, XXnoob

First, look at the damaged pieces and see if they can be repaired. Cracks can normally be repaired, shattered and missing pieces not so much.

Fenders are plentiful, and you can usually find a right side fairing on the forums or ebay that's scratched up and repairable. Upper cowls are like gold. There's one seller on ebay in Florida that sells unpainted ones for $109, and they aren't too bad. Also check out Delkevic.

The Chinese stuff isn't the best. They are pretty easy to spot from less than 5 ft away. Still, $5-$6 hundred isn't too bad to get your ride reset...you'll spend $400 or so on used panels and getting them painted. And $1000 on new Honda parts. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I helped a guy install the Hong Kong body parts on his 2003 'Bird. They looked suspect when in the box but once installed they looked just like the remaining original parts. His 2003 was painted black by the previous owner. The headlight cowl, and both fairing sides were replaced. I need a rear seat cowl and will probably purchase my parts from there also. Another domestic site list the seat cowl for $434 and I can buy the complete body kit for $295 and shipping will be about the same.
I hae to wait though, just got through purchasing and installing Givi E55 Maxia 3 trunk, using a N 140 fitment kit. I also installed the Admore light kit and I am really happy with the extra visibility afforded by the lights. Sidebags are about to be purchased. OUCH!!
Good luck on your decision but in his case there were no problems with fitting the plastic.

Sorry to hear the bad news, to get fit and finish like you had but even better OEM is the only way to go, however cost may be prohibitive. Check partzilla.com out , they have the best prices. Next option are the ebay specials, some suspect some not bad, its a roll of the dice

Thank you all, I have located a place in Cali. called Fire Dragon Bros. they seem to have a whole set for 519 plus shipping. Something about not buying from china eases my mind. Eventho that is where they had bought them from I'm sure.
