Hi,

i have a FI Bird that will get a new engine with a carb bottom end and FI head.

One little last problem is the temp sensor right side to the termostat.

Can i just plug this one into the coolant pipe right next? "O" is the orignal position of the sender "X" would be the new position.

Best regards

Could most likely be solidly mounted almost anywhere on the engine and work. Just below the pic you posted there should be what I'll call an unfinished boss. Looks like it could be tapped to 10mm. Not sure what size the sensor is. You could add an adaptor if necessary.

Are you sure the position is not important?
Is there a possiblity to delete the knock sensor? I have read there also was a FI model without knock sensor. Or could a resistance be fitted instead of the sensor togheter with 98oktane maybe?

No, not sure about position. However, the position I suggested is pretty close to the position and direction of the stock unit .

Knock sensor/ECU looks for a certain frequency that is generated by a "knocking" engine. This frequency is caused by pre-detonation and I don't believe it has a direction.

Also, you cannot fake a knock sensor with a resistor. You are thinking of the oxygen sensor. Totally different.
