Hi all, recently purchased a salvage blackbird, ignition wires have been cut, and barrel is damaged. If replacing the barrel, does ecu match the key? In other words, do I need a replacement ecu as well as the barrel itself? - It's an H.I.S.S by the way.
Cheers.

The HISS receiver is not part of the ignition barrel.
Assuming you have a chipped key that matches the ecu - If you get a new barrel with matching keys - you can transfer the chip from the old key to the new key and all should work.

If you don't have a chipped key that matches the ecu - it's going to get expensive.

Thanks, I didn't realise the key chip could be swapped. I have however devised another solution, ordered another barrel, and hopefully remove the guts of my damaged one and insert into new barrel.
Hopefully it'll work, worth a try!
