The issue with honda bike paints is that they are multi stage and use a tinted top coat.My luvverly bird is candy red and obviously faster because it's the best colour. But, she has a few small scratches and scuffs from her 51000 miles of fly killing. The lad in the paint shop says it will ne £1400 for a full respray if I bring all the plastics in bare, or £700 if I don't have a candy colour.
What's the second best colour?
I'll have a look. Which car? I was leaning towards white, black logos and red xx's.Masda do a gorgeous metalic red. I think the Bird would look great in that colour.
I suspected as muchThe candy paints are silver, with a colour tinted clear layer on top. The red fades with time so they can't guarantee a colour match.
The SUV models and the MX5 I think.I'll have a look. Which car? I was leaning towards white, black logos and red xx's.
You are absolutely right. The first time that I saw it in the sunlight I was blown away by how amazing it looked. A word of caution though. People complained about lack of durability. It is an 'eco friendly' paint process.....if such a thing actually exists...and there is usually a trade off with reduced durability.Masda do a gorgeous metalic red. I think the Bird would look great in that colour.
Hi Bees,Red as a whole no matter what it's made of fades pretty quickly in the sun.
What you say about the fianal coat being too hard makes sense.Sounds like what they're using for materials set up to hard. I'd wonder to if it's just the color coat or if it's chipping to bare metal.
