Hi Guys
As i have now entered the electronic age and done a test ride i will share my impressions with you
1 engine is much smoother
2 idle is much smoother
3 gear change is smoother
4 bike is much quieter has cat exhausts
5 torque is available from idle on up
6 for the same throttle setting the bike is slower
7 the bike feels noticeably heavier
8 the forks are more compliant
9 the power band is much flatter than the carb
Cleaned 4 years of grime off and now begins to look decent
Changed pads but i have a stuck front left so i have to swap calipers and rebuild this one
Going to remove forks and drain flush and refill with 5 w
Then need to change chain and sprockets as on the limit
And out some nightbreakers in ...
Then off we go
Paul

I've never ridden the efi to compare, but I had a 97 and currently have the late 99 carb. The previous owner fitted efi front forks and wheel, then put a gash paint job on it and the wrong stickers. I've nearly got it to 40k miles and it still runs smooth. I've got a video of it on the rolling road along with the power curve here:
