It won't be long before 80mph will be a thing of the past in this country the way things are heading, cameras everywhere lowering speed limits, and camera Van's, especially in the north west.

110 kph (68 mph) is already maximum speed limit in most of Australia. And that is only on certain major highways. Cameras everywhere. All this space and no (legal) way to enjoy it. Very sad.

My favourite saying,

Speed doesn't kill, its the sudden stopping that does.

It's getting bad everywhere, fixed cameras, average speed detection zones and so called safety camera vans that the hide at every opportunity and are rarely sited at KSI sites.

Still I love to drop down a few years as I approach such sites, sounds like I'm flying, then as I come into view, quickly back up the box and smile.

Apparently the speed limits are coming down because of the introduction of more electric vehicles to are roads, that are supposed to be heading are way.
Government must have had a nice back hander from the big ev companies to push it all out, but it's the infrastructure that isn't up to it as we already know, and the privatisation of charging points hasn't helped.
I think were a long way to go before you can charge a bike or car in the same time it takes to use good old fashioned fuel, or to be able to get the same mileage.
