    Avons

I know some of you have moved on to other tires, but I still love the Avons. I just installed a set and wow, it's like having a brand new bike. Before, it definitely took a push on the bars to lean into the corners, and the bike always wanted to stand back up again. Now it dips right down into the lean with virtually no effort, and the best thing about the Avons is the corner stability. The bike stays leaned over and just wants to stay right where it's at. It feels as stable at 45 degrees as at 90!

    Re: Avons

I still run the Avons... I'm awaiting a pair of the new replacements for the venerable Avon Azaros (AV45/AV46 combo) to show up.

They're called the Avon "Storm" tires (AV55/AV56 combo).... should be here any day, or so says my Tucker Rocky distributor....

Jette, do your Avons make your bike feel a little nervous when riding straight on the highway and encounter surface irregularities, that is, do you feel any wallowing either front or rear? Especially in crosswinds?

    Re: Avons

It is weird to see what difference another country makes.....
This year I've sold over 1100 tyres. Guess how many Avons?

Only 2! Both of them for big cruiser bikes.....

It is not that I am more expensive with these than other brands, it's just that Avon is thought to be total crap al over Europe (except England). I am not saying they are crap, but it is the general perception of them...

In my experience, it's that way over here...at least where I live. All the cruiser guys seem to love the Venom X (I think) Avons

I have a set on my 929 and I think they're great! They stick just as good as anything else you need for street riding and last much longer than the "super sport" tires.

Let us know when you get them mounted and how they feel. My AV46 rear is done and I was thinking about adding the new storm av56.

I vote for the avons too, nice feel even in cold, wet weather. Hey does anyone know about the av45/46 combo in a "b" made specifically for the blackbird? Is that true?

Not a bit. You can feel the treat a little under 10mph, but this goes away at any speed. Love these tires!

I've ridden a number of tyres on the BB over the years, and I honestly don't know how they could be any better. The Avons stick on the corners, right down to touch-down, they warm up well, they are super-stable in the corners, and haven't had trouble in the wet. Granted, I don't ride really aggressive in the rain. I'll ride at night or in the rain, but not both!

    Re: Avons

I have Avons on my Hurricane. I love them. I spent twice as much as I would have on competitors, buthe performance is way better also.

    Re: Avons

Sorry to break up the Avon love fest, but I've bought my last set and moved on. The last two sets didn't last worth a shit and my last front Avon had a pretty serious manufacturing defect.

I'm running Pilot Powers now and really like them. They probably won't be real mileage champs, but they really do stick.
