Para it can depend on the location. Cali has a lot of concrete as does Michigan. Here in AZ the use different pavement mixtures. The newest is actually a rubberized component that makes a hell of a difference with road noise and actually rides real well too. But yes our surfaces tend to be a bit smoother for the most part. The real fun stuff is the concrete with rain grooves running the same direction as the lane. San Diego California has this running 8 through Mission and Fashion Valley's. Depending on the tire design you run the bike will feel like your on a slick road because it is constantly moving around under you. Interesting feeling to say the least at 65 mph.

been running Pilot Road 4 since I bough the bike and thinking about changing for something that's a bit more sporty just to see a bit of change, would anyone recommend a set of Pirelli Angel GT for a bit of fun or would Pilot power 3 be better?

You will feel a marked change in the turn in rate with Pilot Powers mounted which is what I love about them. The profile is more triangular as compared to the Roads flatter cross section. A new pair of Power 2CT's sits in wait at my local dealer.

I lost a front PR4 with debris summer of 17 on a trip and the out of town dealer fitted his only Michelin; a 2ct for me to get me by. After returning home 1000 miles later, I spooned a matching 2ct on the rear. Of course I loved them...and they’re Michelin’s...BUT. They were both toast at 4,000 miles. In comparison, I have 13,000 miles on my current Road 5’s always running 42/42. Had I put 2ct’s on my other machine last month (already have 3,000 miles on this set of R5’s)...I’d be tire shopping again. So, if you ride 10,000 miles or more a year like I do. You can buy one set of PR4’s or R5’s or 3 sets of 2ct’s. If you can outride the performance characteristics of either tire, you should be chatting with Duhamel...

My dog always pee’s on my wheels before a trip...why is that?

Re: Honda Super Blackbird tire preference 2016-2018

I see about the distance done with tires, I bought the bike in November last year and I already done 10,000 Km with it so 2 ct might only be a short option. I know that I'll hitting the highway this summer (will probably be putting some Road 4 again) but in the mid time I just wanted to go into work with a bit of a difference and I'm unsure if the Pirelli are any good for sporty road trips.. The roads back home are a bit nasty...

Upgrade from the PR4 to the Road 5. You won’t be disappointed! Much improved tire

    Tiger
That's what I got going over to the T30, 31's. The 31 is an updated version much like the 5's for Michelin. And they are like the powers a more triangular shape so the tip in is hugely different. But just as stable on all surfaces dry, wet, paint and tar snakes. And I got 12,000 out of the rear.

Yep I'm running a front 2CT and a PR4 rear at the moment and find they work well and wear about the same

I have had various tyres fitted over the years and easily the No1 is
Pilot Road 4 for all road conditions and they just work with the BB

I've put about 4000km on my bike, with Angel GTs, and love them. I've never felt them slip and love the feel. I can almost get to the edge in moderate fun - I'll get a set of GT II's next year, once I burn off a set of Avon Ultra Sport 3Ds !!!

Re: Honda Super Blackbird tire preference 2016-2018

I just installed a set of Dunlop Roadsmart IIIs on my scooter.

I’m sure they will far exceed my requirements. I’m old and slow and don’t care if I get lost.

Ordered from Revzilla with free shipping and no tax. Dunlop is offering a $40 Visa gift card rebate for qualified retailers. Revzilla was on the list.
