    1997 Carb 'Bird with dead Engine - Parting Out

    Bike is a 1997 CBR 11XX Blackbird. Good condition but not running (if that makes sense). All she needs is an engine. 14055 miles. Clean Two Bros black 4-2-1 exhaust system, Corbin seat, missing uppercowl and left mirror is broken. Cleartitle (not salvage). Original key andlockset. New battery, birdcage (frontcowl stay), and left side case cover. Can take pics by request. Full set of new ABS stock bodywork on order, justshipped from overseas and will arrive in July. Would love it if someone could point me to a running, decent conditionmotor, but in lieu of that, she’s selling for $2500.00 as is, or $3250.00 withnew bodywork included. I can deliver thebike/plastics, within a reasonable distance from the DC area. Or I’ll partout at the following prices (not including shipping):

    Several folks here are looking for parts you have. Panna is looking for a good frame and gauge set for his carbie. Hammy is looking for a left mirror. There was someone looking for a carb set not too long ago and anyone looking for a gauge set, these low mileage clocks will fit any year analog bike, the only difference is the faceplate (kickstand light vs FI light).

    yes it will fit but the cylinder pairing is different. Carbie headers are more top end power oriented, FI are more midrange oriented. I have FI headers on my carbie. mute point with after market though.

    OP didn't kill it. The previous owner seized up the motor, I think because no oil but I can't remember.

    Bought the bike as a 'light wreck' that a neighbor's step son had 'dropped in a parking lot'. Was assured that it ran well, but was too much bike for him and the battery was stone dead and alt cover was broken. Looked great, clean, straight, and story made sense. Got bike home and started working on it only to find less than 1/2 qt oil in the motor and seized so hard the crank won't turn. Other than that the bike is solid (great for donor parts) but getting a carbie motor or rebuilding w/ new pistons and jug work seem to be more pricey than I'm willing to put out. So she's all pulled apart and on here for donor parts.
