:hmm:........ This makes me feel good about keeping my still new looking 05BB even though I can't ride it (bung hip and bypass surgery have made the semi sport riding crouch 'out of limits' for me). ...

If putting standard filter in doesn't sort it, try a performance filter, they tend to run weaker, may make for an easy fix?

Check that you don't have a fuel smell in your oil - if you do, stop riding it or you will damage the engine becasue your oil is diluted with fuel. Then search FPR threads on here for more info...

beestoys liked post by TheDuck On thread : 2000 bb front brake lever firm than soft
That's my line of thinking as well although I am adding in the possibility that there is a bubble of air / slug of black mess that sits in one of the nooks and crannies and then moves as the brakes...

Hi Here's an update of my troubles. I have replaced all four floater needles and the floater gasket. The needles where not very noticable worn out, just barely showed a thin line around them. But I...

beestoys liked post by leighb On thread : Installing a new r/r and stator
You could also take the power off the tail light circuit if you always have your lights on (like Aussie bikes do). That way it's switched and doesn't leech power from the battery when the bike is...

If you get her right for you, she'll be the best bike in the world and still a bargain compared to what you could spend

beestoys liked post by Petescbrxx On thread : Installing a new r/r and stator
Thank you Shaken for the knowledge on the r/r. Only thing is the r/r I received from Rick's is thicker than the one so I had to ziptye it to the framework until I can get some longer bolts. Thank you...

Ta I'll add this to my test rig investigations. I'm a great believer in doing things in mini steps. Makes it easier to identify where or what went wrong.

Presumably the fast idle is working at start up, at what revs is the rattling heard? After beestoys suggestion I'm thinking CCT (in case you hadn't guessed :smilebig:) What mileage on the Bird and...

beestoys liked post by teef.au On thread : F1 light.
If you are just plodding around, the drop in power can be a bit subtle. Another characteristic can be a little bit of surging. If hte light comes back on, run the bike along a straight level road at...

Well if you have somebody local who has a good reputation then why wouldn't you go to him. People like that are hard to find in the UK now but I always support them when I can since I hate the throw...
