    Hello from Melbourne

    Hi all...

I've recently acquired a 2000 Blackbird after many years not riding. Loving being back on the bike again. My previous bike was the CBR1000F, so it feels like an upgrade

I am happy to find BB enthusiasts because this bike really redefines riding for me. I've never ridden such a wonderful machine before. Handles superbly, and you hardly can tell the weight she's carrying when you're up and going.

Anyway, I already have some questions, so I'm just reaching out

    Cheers

    Re: Hello from Melbourne

Thanks all, I'm frankly amazed there are enough blackbird riders to make a forum work... very pleased. I need to find that manual!

I've had the bike for less than a week... only ridden it three times since the weather in Melbourne has been pretty wet, hail and high winds. Spent hours on cleaning and lubing the chain today. Then the weather cleared in the evening and so took it out for a short spin after dinner, what a great headlight... quite pleased.

    What a bike ...

    Re: Hello from Melbourne

I tried to respond to your PM but you dont have recipt enabled ...

I leave my bike down the Mornington Peninsula and when I do need a mechanic i go to Hoffmans in Hastings.
I think the Yamaha guy on Whitehorse Rd in Mont Albert is ok?

Hey Leigh, have fixed my message settings - thanks, and thanks for the advice. Hoffmans is probably too far for me. I wonder if you mean Mick Hone on Whitehorse?

Yep that's him. Only been there once to get roadworthy cert when i transferred rego from nsw. Was pretty helpful and didn't overcharge for some small fixes... not sure about their blackbird knowledge though.
