Just a quick note (I know those photos tend to be generic) but does your rad have the boss for the temp sensor, the one in the photo shows a plate welded over it.

Depends which pic you look at some of the others have the boss.
    Well worth checking b4 fitting!

Might just be the angle that the photo was taken at and there is a screw in aluminium plug in place* but that is generally overkill for Chinese rads.
    * Can't see the purpose since all carbies ran a sensor and the rad has a carbie neck. More understandable if it was a rad for an inj.

Just curious, did you install this radiator and were there any issues?

    Thanks

not yet need to have the top and bottom plates welds touched up all four corners came cracked Ebay seller refunded most my cash i got it for $25, but fitment looks good as OEM , except the remote tank nipple is a larger diameter over OEM maby a 6mm or 8mm hose not a big deal

    cheers-

Bought one a few years ago for my 1999 Bird. Works just fine. The "plug" on mine was actually an aluminum bolt the kept the threads from damage , I guess, in shipping. Just unscrew and insert temp probe. Did a write up on it on this forum somewhere. See if I can find it to link.

    Hi Stone,

I did this back in Aug 2018 on my '97. Watch out for the neck size. Some of the photos show the thin neck at the cap location (as per OEM). Some show it as much fatter. If you've got the latter you'll need to trim your plastic wind/ heat deflector to get it to fit. Forewarned is forearmed 😉

There are a few other observations pulled from a few other write ups I tried to include (e.g. watching out for your copper washers).

    https://www.cbrxx.com/general-cbr-xx...#/topics/47479

I'd suggest searching and reading lots of other similar threads first too (take care to note the differences having the later FI birds versus a carb bird as the radiators are different so the problems vary too).

There's good advice re the practicalities of draining your system (there's an excellent blow by blow write up on here somewhere **), flushing, what fluid to choose (dangers of unwittingly mixing different types), how much you'll need (theoretical stated volume versus in practise) when refilling, environmental warning re spillage etc

    Have fun.

** see https://www.cbrxx.com/parts-for-sale...#/topics/11145 It was excellent help though it's still lost its supporting photos
