So far I'm thinking of these ones (1 externally at the front, 2 inside each bag at the rear and floor bolt points). Don't know if they'd be strong enough but they seem rated for hoods/ bonnets and more appropriately bumpers (on racing circuits… .sounds solid).

Question re your solo seat: is it like the Corbin Smuggler, storage in the rear? Screenshot_20190615-133925_1560603449478.pngimages (1)_1560603777335.jpeg

If not, think it can be mod'd?
    CBR900RRtail004_1560603808853.jpg

My Utopian idea is solo seat with rear panel that can be converted to pillion seat at whim. Access to storage would be a bonus.

    Too much INSANITY?

I'm liking your mini amp plug idea. Quick release bolt ideas welcome!
No prob! Mmmmm... Haven't really thought of a quick release system for Beetle bags. I like the system you showed and gone to youtube link... Sweet! Now ya gots me thinkin again! Lol BUT wanted quick release for for LED for both Givi and Beetles bags! I can live with the fact it's going to cost me roughly 15/20 min to change "cloths!" AND mini amp plug I think is my best option for LED lights... Quick and simple !

The back portion of the seat is hollow. The whole seat is lighter compared to full seat. Since it's hollow I could turn into a small trunk... Will post pics of underside... As you already know this is the original German solo seat. The German solo seat is still the "cleanest" looking seat out there Oh! And no! Not Enuff INSANITY!!!! Lolol

No beestoys! That sweet seat in mine! POST #3... "Amazing story behind seat! Owner lives in Alberta Canada(Had the bike shipped from Alberta to my location here in Quebec) and got a hold of a complete stranger(Biker) in Germany who spoke little English so German dude got a friend who understood English. And asked/begged! If he could buy it and ship it to him here in Canada! He agreed! And the rest is history! Funny... Now you have many choices to choose from but the original German seat is nice! There is one that has mini trunk! Another that has a mini cushion. Another looks like it was developed in a wind tunnel! With XX emblazoned on it. ALL solo seats..."

Here are a couple of links...
    Honda and CBR1100 XX

So... $249 EUR OR $279.81 US

Wechselhöcker lackiert = Replacement bumps painted

Wechselhöcker unlackiert = Replacement bumps not painted

Your biggest problem being the company hs1 will not ship it OUT of Germany!

Thought so I've been mulling around getting one again. I'll have to find a compadre over in that area that is willing to ship one for me when i decide to get one.

On another note haven't been able to open up that link to see any further progress on your refresh

Hi Bee, sorry neither are mine. The first is one of Lovin's seats (manufacturer unidentified but potentially German in origin). The second is a Corbin Smuggler.

"Did you see the pics of my HS-1 unit at photoisland.com? For particulars I can say it was a royal pain in the ass to get. But hear you go...
The maker is HS-1 or Haungs out of Germany. The wait was...get this...almost 7 months !!! And, they WILL NOT SELL OR SHIP TO THE U.S. !!!! So you'll have to go through someone in GErmany. I have already talked to my contacts in the U.K. and Germany to get them shipped over and they said "sorry", to much red tape, etc. Cost is in Euros on the web page, about $325+ , but that doesn't include VAT (tax), shipping and any import duties if the U.S. agency asks for them or any fees impose by your bank for wire transfers of funds etc. In all it will run about $400 or so as an estimate. The unit is the seat AND the cowl. The seat foam is cut 30mm to give more of a dish, and firmer to give excellent support, but is pretty hard compared to the stock seat. The seat is covered in a vinyl that has the look of a leather grain in your choice of colors. The seat base is I believe either a hard plastic or thick fiberglass ( would have to go and see to verify- I just don't recall at the moment)The cowl is made of hand laminated fiberglass and is pretty thick. It bolts to the seat to make it one solid unit. It mounts to the bike just like the stock seat utilizing the standard locking mechanism etc. I had the cowl painted to match my bike by HS-1 for a small additional cost and it came out perfect. The quality is outstanding. All hardware to mount and bolt together the unit is of high quality and included. I'm sorry but I can't help you get one. Wish I could...could sell quite a few, but as I have found from previous experience importing Euro parts to the States, most people don't really want to pay top dollar for top quality items."
    Howie

So... There ya go Beestoys! Hope that helps.

    If there's a will, then you'l find a way!

My intent is not only quick release but minimal mounting furniture to be left on bike. So once all luggage is off, the frames can be removed too so she looks sleek and factory fresh once again.

I've got a set of the quick release bolts on order. I'll do my beetle bags so I can ride with and without luggage with a secure quick release convenience.

My Givi pannier set up is already quick release not simply re the panniers on/ off the frame (as anyone with Givis knows that's already great). So it's swapping over the pannier frame which needs the quick feature. NB photos attached are stock shots (not my bike).

    kft_01_061_20001_b_1_xl_1560679903574.jpg
I'm already there via an SW-Motech frame system with quick release bolts.
    10025910_740_FR_09_1560679921078.JPG10025909_740_ANW01_10_1560679933236.JPG
They do need a tool/ coin to operate them. May be slicker to change them to the quick release bolts I have on order. Hmmmmm.

To make it theft proof there's a large "lockable" mounting bolt available albeit it's a bit hideous.
    10065400_740_11_1560679946082.JPG

Wonder if I could just put one of the new bolts release on the inside of the tail cowl protected from access by the locked seat?

My task now is to double check that the the SW-Motech mounting brackets can be left in place with the Givi monorail. Then I'll have Utopia (beetles off, Givis on else frames/ rail off too to be back to clean sleek lines all in a matter of moments ).

NB you can't use the SW-Motech alu rack in the picture with Beetle bags (unless you mod it).
    gpt0120715000b_4_xl_1560683600970.jpg

It doesn't give sufficient clearance once the Givi adapter plate is added for the bags to open (well not with a Givi E52 maxia in place)
    gpt_00_152_405_1_xl_1560683614180.2171.jpg

I used to have it extended backwards on a few straight brackets but they worked loose and damaged the bags (wearing grooves in them). That's when I swapped over to the monorail.

I'm sure you're very happy with your wing rack (I would be). I may even consider swapping to one if I can make it quick release (remembering Bee's note re monorail head wobble).

Ooh seems the Suzuki Bandit rack fits and may be the readymade solution to marry Beetle bags and Givi seamlessly (as per this 2013 thread).

Grab rail can be retained and the top box would be set further back clearing bag lids. s-l400_1560699300088.png BB on left Bandit version on right.

I'll go the Haungs one, it's so much cleaner looking. When we double up I use the Russel couch. Interesting enough those wings make a damn good perch when hanging of the side knee down.
