Very nice detailing with the wax. Your "Monster" will now have to be renamed the "Insincere Monster" 😉😜

In 17th-century France, so the story goes, some sculptors used wax to adulterate the metals in which they worked. The wax was used to cover up flaws in their work.

A sculpture made of unadulterated metal was said to be “without wax”—sans cire in French. Hence the English “sincere".

    Probably pure urban myth 😉

Don't need to mate. Off the shelf hog footrests:
"Black Wing Foot Pegs Rests Cruiser For Harley-Davidson Dyna Male Peg Mount Softail FXCW FLSS Touring Motorcycle"
    https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ykE4osY

Then just ditch the original hog 8mm bolt (and the fastner it ends in) and gently drill out/ rebore the central bolt hole to 10mm to take the larger diameter (M10) engine mounting bolt (after ordering longer ones plus spacers).

I used the Unbrako Socket head bolts (M10x200mm length) as a good tensile/ strength match to the R&G bolts such that the head would be countersunk not protruding. NB I had to place a special order to have them in fine pitch (1.25mm) not the normal (1.5mm pitch).
https://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk...SHCap_M10.html I figured whatever strength the R&G provided bolt was (looking at the designation on the bolt head) that would be good enough for the wing. Obviously we don't simply want something that merely fits but it has to be strong enough to be torqued up properly to play its part in mounting the engine and also not simply snap if the BB is dropped.

    Unbrako-Socket-Head-Cap-Screws-ISO-4762-in-BO_1560225689858.png

I figured 200mm long would be long enough to cope with the extra length of the wing compared to the R&G sliders. With hindsight I'd have gone for the more weather resistant bolts over the blackened unbrakos.

Spacers were just off fleabay in selected widths.

Mine are currently fitted (saved the bike once already) but without the lower fairing in place yet.

I mention that as I haven't worked out how much fairing to cut out letterbox fashion to let them poke through (and esp at what angle as totally horizontal just seems to collect crap in the rain with minimal run off) else try to extend them enough to be surface mounted through the prior RG crashrooms holes. I figure better not to extend (to maintain strength) at the expense of having to cutting the letterbox.

So bottom line is I don't know yet what the final look will be like (cool or nice idea but crap result).

Originally I did wonder if I could get my feet up on them esp when I add cruise control; the thought made me chuckle as I'd need my knees up under my chin!

Anyway, you are welcome. Sharing and helping each other is what these forums are about.

I don't have a workshop or garage so all my projects are a very slow burn. I'm very blessed to have a hugely tolerant other half esp when the sitting room becomes a parts store or the dining table a soldering station! She's ace!

Mmmmmm, I suspect there is plenty of mileage left yet in bouncing ideas off each other. I'm long on projects but short on time, facilities and build experience. I started the wing slider mod back in Oct '18 and still not finished! So you can just imagine the timeframe for the dash mod!
Wholly identify with buy now install at leisure (much to the missus's chagrin).

Feel wholly free to adopt/ evolve any ideas of use to you on Monster. You've given me plenty of ideas too.

I still do need to pick your brains re front/ rear cameras and vivid v wrapping 😉

    Bring on the INSANITY!

Ooh nice install Bee! I'll have to Google the specs. Do you have a screen set up on the dash (for the rear view)?

Ideally I want to aim for the full HUD in-helmet thing but looks like the tech for that is still at the movies and in true fighter plane lids!

Well done Beestoys! Saw this set up B4... Wasn't sure if I wanted to cut into the nose cone... However it really is clean set up AND you don't have to worry about front fender coming in contact with cam. Mine is mounted on the underside on that little "trap door"... Now ya gots me thinking of re positioning it in the nose itself.

    Mallow
System dumps into a mini DVR in the tail section above my cruise control servo. Runs a continuous loop. But if there is an impact it stores that footage in a secure section of the drive. Only hiccup we've seen to date is that the shock sensor is to sensitive and stores video that isn't from a crash. We have asked the maker for a update to allow us to see the highest level read so we can adjust to just over that. But they can't do it for now. It even has a valet mode so if the bike is knocked over it records the incident. Son had this happen to him. The gent left a note and his info. But we still saw who it was.

Mounting it in the nose is a little tricky. You'll have to file down the mounting bracket to get the right position for the lens without it being tipped. But it does keep the camera out of the elements even though its designed for it. We also got both lenses covered with a gorilla glass protective guard.

Thank you Beestoys. My cam is 1 inch below "trap door"... Have a lot of clearance BUT all it would take would be one "Magical" pothole to ruin the whole thing... Going to seriously consider moving it. May do so after my first official ride of the year.

Lovin, here's another little idea for your consideration if your Monster is to have a heated seat or a similar application re power to your Beetle Bags LED strips. See from post one of this thread:
