Different loom to cater with the different position of the electrical items.
Different undertray (battery box has removable rubber feet to allow taller batteries to fit) …. think this happened in 01.

Re: F1 Gen 1 and Gen 2 definitions.

Those are most likely the second gen. When they went digital dash they switched the RR to the right. Some of the lower serial numbers years can have some transitional parts. The factory will run out stock in the lines. HD was notorious for this and so were the metric makers.

My 02BB had the heavy gauge wiring and R/Rect on the right side and the digital dash and cats in the cans....... I heard Honda made lots of updates over the years (but didn't tell anyone).

Re: F1 Gen 1 and Gen 2 definitions.

    Yep
Here in lies some explanation to the earliest Carbies and some folks thinking there was a 96 BB. they were built in late 96 but were actually 97's. You get cross overs in a lot of the early part of the years and the tail of the year as parts are used up.

Re: F1 Gen 1 and Gen 2 definitions.

Was the wiring loom connector problem confined to gen 1, or was it across both gens?
