Really sorry to hear that bro. Let's hope they refund you in full irrespective of you having painted it on the grounds of "not fit for purpose". Fight hard with them, if they refuse make reference to you'll leave negative feedback and report their product/ advert to eBay. Escalate to eBay customer service there after plus if you paid by credit card or paypal etc you may be covered there too.

    Good luck getting it sorted.

Re: Cheap Radiators on the Bay

i just installed the one for the mkI bb with the straight filler spout last week
    some pointers
    they do work just fine
they do fit up to a point
they are slightly wider and can just brush the side fairing
they are 50 pct thicker and this makes fitting the under nosecone black air dam very difficult without trimming it significantly as the clearance between rad and frame is very tight
your rad fan will also be about 2 cm closer to the exhausts you may need to adjust the mounting feet slightly for the fan shroud to mate exactly
due to them being much thicker they will even overcool the engine in normal use in northern europe
the hose spouts are very smooth and if you want to be sure the hose will grip well a little roughing up will be of use

A little update on my radiator,
The seller is welling to refund 50% back, for me to keep the unit.
I've ordered a different radiator on the way (the one looks just like Mallow1)

I have no use for the old radiator, If there's anyone like to have it for educational purpose let me know. I'm located in Canada.

If itís not too late, you could use the EBay complaints facility. Even though youíve painted the rad, it doesnít match
its advertised description, so itís not fit for purpose. You might be able to claim 100% refund (less the return postage).

Itís advertised as suitable for an FI Bird, but itís clear from the pix that the design is incorrect when compared to one
that has actually been fitted to a (UK) FI Bird (left).

Have you read through the thread, Silverbird1137?

If two suppliers offer the same product at different prices (£58.50 ($73) or £175 ($218.37))....

Quite right about the spigot. Mine did interfere with the fairing and wasn't put on by me. Now I find it has worn away and water everywhere after a journey. How the f**k do you get the reservoir tank out FFS ! driving me mad !!!

I have one on mine for over two years now. Did a write up on it and it calculated to approximately holding 20% more fluid volume. Decent Radiator. As stated in previous posts, make sure you get the correct overflow position for your year and model. This is title of my post

I've seen mixed reviews on if it helps cooling or not, mine is perfectly fine but I'd change it out for better cooling in a second. Should I?

Re: Cheap Radiators on the Bay

most of the chinky sellers are in germany
i got one via ebay uk and it sort of fits
its a lot thicker and so you need to trim the under tray as it cant fit past the rad
its also a little wider and almost touches the fairing
the cooling is far better than oem, about double
