    ULEZ Certificate of Conformity

Posted here to avoid hijacking the “What have you done” thread – for anyone who might need it

    Updated 19 July 2019

    What's a Certificate of Conformity?

A Certificate of Conformity (COC) is granted for a motorcycle when it meets a minimum set of regulatory, technical and safety requirements. You’ll need this certificate if you want to export your bike overseas.

If your motorcycle was registered after 2001 and was originally registered for the UK market you should be able to apply using your VIN. This can be posted directly to you, free of charge.

Update: Please note if your vehicle has already been issued with a Certificate of Conformity, in order to receive a duplicate certificate there will be a charge of €175 (£157.32) to cover the administrative costs. If you are unsure if the Certificate is a duplicate or not, please request the Certificate and we will be in touch with you if payment is required.

    How to get one

Update: To get your COC, please visit the following link and follow the instructions: https://tinyurl.com/y2kh9g6j

You can expect to receive your certificate within five to seven working days.

    SEE FOR YOURSELF.

Here is the official site of London’s ULEZ vehicle checker, for those who might wish to confirm the current status of their bike.

A guy on another ‘Bird site said he e-mailed Honda with his VIN and copy of V5 and they sent him the Certificate of Conformity. I’m looking forward, hopefully, for the same response.

Meanwhile, if they change the compliance rules to exclude all except Euro3 certificated vehicles the Blackbird won't comply, as the bike’s hydrocarbon emissions are more than double the Euro3 level.

    Re: ULEZ Certificate of Conformity

The Congestion Charge is £11.50 per day

The ULEZ Charge is £11.50 per day

There’s also a daily Low Emissions Zone (LEZ) Charge for HGV’s

I'm sure all these charges will disappear, once the air is deemed to be "clean" by the powers-that-be (NOT!)

You need to look at emmission value for your bike as stated by Honda- needs to be below TfL limit, if is, you can apply

    Re: ULEZ Certificate of Conformity

My Certificate of Conformity arrived this afternoon.

    COC.png

Evidently, while the Blackbird’s emissions were designed to meet Euro
Level 2limits, it also meets the Euro Level 3 NOx limits as required by TfL.

I’m not sure about the HC limit, though. It’s high on the ‘Bird, but that might be because the
Euro Level 3 test eliminates the engine warm-up period (Source: The Automobile Association).

Just have to wait for Krisbiker, now: hope it all ends well!

    What's a Certificate of Conformity?
    D'A,

Great you've set this up. I'm on an original '97 carb bird. Really don't want to swap to another bike so if the FIs pass my compromise will be to switch to one and transfer all my mods/ upgrades where I can. That would be my best bet re very tight budget!

Awaiting K's news with fingers crossed.

    Cheers Mallow1

That is fabulous news! Congratz mate! I'm very jealous.

Now all I need to do is trade in my 97 carbie for an FI!

Have you tried putting your reg into the TfL database to see if they've updated it yet?

This is perhaps really good news! I have to travel into the 2021 ULEZ and assumed my 2001 Fi model wouldn't meet the requirements. Maybe there is still hope!

The inner one starts this year. It then expands to N&S circular later, so don't hang around- my orig had cats, don't know if not having will tip the balance the wrong way if yours hasn't, I'd suggest you investigate sooner rather than later. Am going to look into if V5 can have them added as I suspect London will sooner or later be followed by other places wanting to make an easy income

Have tried, still shows I have to pay, I'd still check values on yours just in case.
