    Re: ULEZ Certificate of Conformity

    ...Sigh...

Wrote to Honda - got the Certificate 15 January

    CoC.png

Back then (seems like a million years ago), there was no charge for the CoC
and apparently that's still the case

Sent the CoC to TfL - got confirmation from TfL 12 February

    TfL.png

All the required information is on the CoC - nothing else is needed or necessary
If your "application is incomplete" the problem's at their end - call and find out...

Meanwhile, if they change the compliance rules to exclude all except Euro3 certificated vehicles the Blackbird won't comply, as the bike’s hydrocarbon emissions are more than double the Euro3 level.
Sounds like they've changed the rules.... I've re-checked mine and it still shows as exempt.

EDIT: I’ve just looked at the ULEZ Standards - and I’m pretty sure they’ve changed the requirement for bikes to include
Euro 3. Otherwise, why would they have issued exemptions and, more importantly, do those exemptions still apply?

I’m not sure about the HC limit, though. It’s high on the ‘Bird, but that might be because the
Euro Level 3 test eliminates the engine warm-up period (Source: The Automobile Association).

    Re: ULEZ Certificate of Conformity

On 9th May 2019, after sending in my CoC, I received a letter stating that I will not be charged for riding in the ULEZ.

The vehicle checker contradicts this and states that I am subject to the ULEZ and will have to pay.

I clicked for more details and found this:

Which states that all vehicles need to meet Euro 3 emissions standards for NOx.

My Blackbird does meet the Euro 3 standards for NOx and I have a CoC to prove this and a letter from TfL stating it is exempt.

I wonder if the vehicle checker is not linked to the database that I assume is connected to the numberplate recognition cameras?

Make sure that you're using the official TfL website facility.

    https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/che...-vehicle-35896

There are lots of old and outdated links out there.

Below are the NOx figures on my CoC and, below that, the NOx limits.

If yours are different to mine, then good luck to you.

My bike is currently shown as "compliant" (no ULEZ fee applicable)
on the TfL website, as illustrated earlier.

This is VERY important - follow this link as mine shows subject to charge on the ULez checker via Google links -

This link shows my bike correctly as exempt from the charge.

Thanks for sharing that. I was ready to write an angry email to TfL!
