Dude you have been trying to give you body away for ages and had no takers what makes you think you going to get someone to give you money for it...

Or do you rekon your gonna be like the chicken farmer who put bags of chicken sh1t out in front of his property with a sign on it say "free please take" no one took a single bag for weeks.. so he changed the sign to $1.00 per bag and would you believe it dissapeared overnight.. (no money left though)

But to get back on topic no I havent changed my cam chain...

I see 10 people said that they did but there arent 10 replies that said the chain was replaced but quite a few said they replaced the tensioner though

I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

my cam chain tensioner was replaced by the previous owner... but nothing wrong w/ the chain... i also bought another tensioner just in case... also i hear that you should change the cam chain guide to extend the life of the chain, but i don't know much about that part... just my 2 cents

re: Have you replaced the cam chain?

I replaced the CCT at 68,001 miles for a double green dot one and no more bags of marbles, but it's made all the other engines noises more noticable .. (clutch basket, etc). Cam chains for any 'bird are good for at least 100,000 miles .. provided you keep your oil clean! And when mine gets there I'll change it along with everything else, or I'll just buy a recon engine to run around on while I slowly rebuild the original ..... might never happen, but hey

I understand the sounds of needing a new cct but what are the sounds of needing a new cam chain? Would you feel it and hear it?

re: Have you replaced the cam chain?

I can't remember how many km I had done at the time, but I was getting the 'CCT' noise on my '98. Replaced the CCT, still had the noise. Next major service, I had the chain & guides replaced. On inspection, the chain seemed fine, but the guides were quite worn. Replacing them was what fixed the noise for me.

re: Have you replaced the cam chain?

I just started getting (or noticing?) the bag of marbles. Will it cause any engine damage to wait a couple of weeks before changing the tensioner?

No. I had it going for some time, much longer than a couple of weeks.

re: Have you replaced the cam chain?

I think mr Honda recommends changing the cam chain at 50,000 miles .... mine needs doing as even after a new cct it still rattles .. although not as bad ......

I have not changed the cam chain. I did replace the tensioner at 38k and it made it nice and quiet.

I also ran mine for a few months before i changed it and all was good. It only takes 45 minutes from start to finish and it is real affordable.
