Engine Pulser Cover Cap Replacement Right side of engine

Hi, Anyone know of the best way to remove and refit the black circular cap without damaging the paint on the nut? A metal socket will surely damage the paint on the nut. I guess with any O-ring behind it is not going to be particularly tight.

Temporarily mislaid my Haynes manual. Maybe Honda do a special tool such as a softer plastic socket or one with a rubber insert?

Any suggestions or experience from some one whose removed/replaced this would be much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Capt. Bubble

Cover it with a couple of layers of tape on the driving edges and use a 6 side socket. Be gentle

Thanks for the reply. I had thought of doing this but just want to make sure there aren't any special tools for this. Electrical tape I guess, a couple of times around the nut head and as you say be gentle.

    Cheers.
