Power Commander or Not to Power Commander?

Yep, that's the question I had after removing the PCIII and riding.

This PCIII tremovel was brought about after installing a used throttle body while searching for changing idle at different temps.
On the PCIII, the usb port was shot and wouldn't connect to the puter in able to zero out the TPS on the new throttle body.

Rode her for 3 weeks with no PCIII and she just scooted as normal..I thought....
After having the injectors cleaned and there screens changed the variable idle settled down during all temps. Ruling out the PCIII causing troubles.

Received the new PCIII from Dynojet for $214.00 usd as a change out.
Thought come on,,, snake oil,,, as she ran great with out it! WELL! ha!

Think I loaded the Staintune Map suggested by member RC46 rather the with Yoshi slipons that are on the bike along with a K&N.

DANG!!!...set me back in the seat a bit...way big difference....hoooweee G-Force is in order.
This horse would come to a serious Gallop quicker than without the PCIII is my reason for a post. (dang it if I only a distributor)

    STex, out
Came into this world with nothing and still have it all.

They make a big difference even on a stock bike as the bird is mapped rich from the factory.

    Second on the rich!
Route 191 formerly Route 666 Some say that this section of the
road has 1100 curves in 95 miles.

I bought and ran my 2003 for a couple years with a Yosh 4 into 1 and stock air filter before getting and installing a PC3 with a map recommended by
Power Commander. Then I got a custom map from JDS Powersports here in NJ and was surprised at the results. 140 HP and 80 torque, a small increase
in peak numbers with the Yosh, but a shocking improvement in low and mid range power and throttle response. I think a custom map is essential to get what
a PC 3 can offer, but it doubles the price of the mod. Remember, tuning one of these things on a dyno is very different than a couple pulls to generate some numbers.
And yes, my chart showed a very rich mix, even with the downloadable map from Dyno Jet. Peak numbers are not the whole story. Congrats, Stex. Enjoy!
