Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has had any gearbox issues and know if there is a known issue with the gearbox, my bike has started making loud clunking and clicking noises when pulling away in first gear when pulling the throttle at first it was quiet and the next day it was really loud, we took the chain and sprockets off as we thought that the chain might be hooking, we ran the bike in first gear without them in and you can clearly hear it coming from the gearbox.

Has anyone had a similar issue, and do you know what was happening or what was needed to fix it?

hoping its a bearing out or something cheaper to fix.

Thanks

Does the sound change depending on whether the clutch is in or out? Definition of loud is pretty variable, some are quite noisy and rough, although if it's loud enough to make you worried, then...

Oil OK? Anything got caught in the front sprocket housing? Noise loudest on the left or right side?

Hi,

We could hear it from the left side better and its like a two tone knocking, with the chain and sprockets off you can hear it much clearer, the louder noise is a clacking and the lower tone is more of a knocking sound, had an oil change last month. with a new filter as well.

Thanks

You should be able to pull the oil pan then you'll be able to see some of the trans gears. You might see what the problem is or find parts in the pan. Sorry I'm not much of a trans guy.
