    Re: Maritime Bird Riders???

Anyone still check out this thread?? I'm from the St. George area of N.B.; don't know of many birds around here at all, couple in Saint John, one in Sussex, one in Upper Coverdale. Very few people know what I'm riding when I go anywhere. Kinda neat tho, only 3 hyper bikes in the county that I know of....... mine, my oldest boy's zx12r, a guy in St. Stephen has a zx14. I've overheard several times when people see my bike " is that whats-his-names zx14" and I get a grin out of it. The 14 is a 2007 and my bird is a 97. Anyway, any of you guys Or gals passing thru N.B. heading for Maine, pm me and we'll meet for coffee. I live 20 minutes from the Calais border. Ride safe. Gene

Just looking through some old posts......and by the looks of it , they don't know their geography. But then again, I heard that PEI is so far off the beaten track , they have to get oxygen piped in

    Re: Maritime Bird Riders???

Hey. My bird is stock. Avon storm tires that grip like hell and last real well. Motul 300v, gonna put hid's in, I ride to work in the dark now. Yeah, I rode in this morning, too. Chilly, but it's worth it for the rush I get riding this bike. Later. Gene

    Re: Maritime Bird Riders???

I'm thinking one or two more spins at +7 degrees or better; then an oil change and sleep mode for the winter. I love fall colors on back roads, but I'm averse to the wet leaves that also seem to be there starting about now.
Someone on KIJIJI (Halifax) is looking for a 'Bird (or ZZR1200) if you're in the mood for selling...

    Re: Maritime Bird Riders???

hey, my bike has BT 14's. they were on the bike when i bought it. is that a decent tire? a couple of guys in town are talking about getting michelin powers for their bikes. how big a job is the change to hid's. i have heard about them but i'm not familiar with them.
about halfway through the summer i put my bird up for sale...it almost sold too. i still have my zx6e and i figured that the bird was too much bike for me, so i wanted to keep my 600 and sell the bird again. after an afternoon on the 600 i was convinced that the bird is like twice the bike. so i'm keeping her, i just need more seat time which is good no matter how you look at it. i must say that the zx6 corners a lot easier, although nervously. i have hit ripples in corners on the bird which caused the bird to stand up and run wide, that's scary. another winter project will be to shim the shock's mounting bracket to raise the rear end. it's suppose to make the bike corner better. has any of you guys done that, or heard about it?
