    What is the best place to power the usb plug?

    Hi;
    I am planning to add a USB charger to my bird for phone / GPS.
    Is it ok to get power from the headlights? Is there much practical and secure ways to get power for extra equipment?

    all ideas will be highly appreciated..

    If you do not mind spending a few bucks, the Fuzeblock seems like a safe and clean option.

    Amazon.com: Fuzeblocks FZ-1 power distribution block: Automotive

    Or a slightly cheaper option, the Centech.

    Not "practical" but if you intend to add more powered options, e.g. Heating gear, GPS,etc, seems like a tidy way of doing it.

    I use Centech and I power heated gear, battery tender, radar, GI, VR, led lighting in my luggage, and I will likely add more. I has worked for me for awhile. I have friend who uses a Fuzeblock in his Bird, his ST1300, and his Beamer. Hot side and cool side. A worthy investment.

    I take power from a harness from the rear brake pedal. It's switched live and runs behind the battery.

    How many different electrical devices can you draw upon from that location?

    Wow, that's a lot... Ever experienced trouble with draining of the battery? Do you need to regularly charge the battery (or is that the battery tender from the list??)

    And just out of curiosity; what is GI and VR?? Gastro-Intestinal tract and Virtual Reality? I can see that a 3D-display would require some kind of power source

    I am currently running a 5v digital video recorder and 12v bullet cam. I think it's on a 10amp protected circuit.

    Why not a fuze box to keep all your farkles centralized? Preserve your battery, even with a tender. Although I'm sure your method works, I still think a Fuze Box is a worth while investment for us farkle lovers.
