    Thanks Dave, sounds good.

I'm looking at the all Black with gold,

liked Black with red but to much swarling sh t on the cowling.

For now recon I'll just spray paint in the groves, scrapes, holes and all, no filler.

This bike is not the same with out the full fairings as wind flow around the machine and your body......SUCKS!

Rather than buying the fairings, for now I think I will have the rear shock rebuilt or something.
I like looking good, but that Dang new seat!

Question - If these body kits are painted this well, fit well and their molds are made from the original parts, then how in the world could you tell if a bike has original parts or not?

Anybody know what type of paint is used? Just wondering if the paint will hold up over time like the stock paint. They sure look nice in the photos. For the price it's great to be able to get replacement body parts without costing an arm and a leg.

Nope, I use Zaino car wax and keep it out of the sun so I'm sure it will last just fine. Like Deadman said, you'd have to take off the fairings and secondly, since I don't buy bikes to collect them I wouldn't care.

I do know that he stock finish is Poly (as in Polyurethane), both color and clear. Poly's all the rage right now in Hot Rods because it's got a mile-deep shine and it's flexible. It's expensive. It's used on bumper covers too. I bought an aftermarket bumper cover and it's painted with Enamel. Chips real easy.

I would send a question to the seller, but I think they use Poly on these.

Re: got my Chinese-made replacement fairing set

I have to admit, this being the first year I've owned the bird I'm amazed you can buy something that looks this good for so cheap.

My last bike you'd have paid a minimum of 100 bucks per side to replace just the side panels, let alone having them painted correctly. I like my bird black but the red birds I love too so the color JB chose would probably be what I went with. That said, anyone thinks it'd look dumb if I didn't paint the tank red too?

I just want something to bring out the carbon fiber a-tech inner cowl a little more and I think the red would do it. I'm just not sure yet if the black tank would look bad with the mostly red rest.

Could always gamble and paint the tank later if I thought so I suppose
