Ride to work on Thursday, starts to snow on Friday and six inches of snow to shovel on Saturday. This would lousy weather for even January. And the price of gas goes up again. |

+1 on the weather sucking ass.
But don't feel bad about how we are getting bent over at the gas pumps up here, as , when I left Arizona 3 weeks ago diesel was at 4.18$ a US gallon (thats 3.89 litre ) so.....the price of diesel here in Alberta is around 1.10$/litre which means I am paying 4.27 a US gallon for the stuff myself. My point being....well last year down in AZ I think I paid something like 2.65$/gallon US(diesel).
Looks to me like our brothers to the south are in as big of pickle as we are. Misery loves company I guess....

Just passed the local Safeway and happened to look at diesel. It was $4.25/gallon before any of there cents off.
Last I heard the need for gas had gone down and yet prices kept going up so supposedly Gregoire has requested information from the government to see where all the gas is going (if anywhere) or if it's just the oil companies wanting more money.
I think car dealers should start making 100mpg cars since they have had the technology for years now instead of these crappy 30-40mpg with the few 60mpg cars.

Update....today april 22. An absolute blizzard rolling thru central Alberta. Some of our major highways closed, and a " tow ban " on sections that remain open. This morning , temp here in Red Deer was around/below freezing, however, we had a 30mph wind. Wind chill was listed as -17c...that would be roughly -2 F. And to think that 1 week ago I was blastin down the road on my Bird in 70deg weather and today there is a foot of snow on the ground.
On a side note, I fueled up my Dodge 3500 yesterday...here's the numbers.
122.86 litres @ 1.23 $ per litre = 151.00 to fill my truck.
Thats 4.78$ a US gallon....yikes
Is it just me, or does that seem a little high to fuel up a light truck???
