Re: How to raise the back of your bike

The true raise at the rear wheel will be more...because the rear suspension uses link plates and this multiplies the range that the swingarm can travel ,for a given length of rear shock movement....

Not sure about the exact raise but when you have a 6mm shim fitted the rear wheel still touches the floor when the bike is on the centre stand.

The 6mm shim raises the back 22-25mm depending on static sag.

Re: How to raise the back of your bike

Sometime ago one of the guys posted he didn't think the shim improved the handling in fact he thought the opposite.

I have one I haven't fitted yet, like a lot of other things

    What's the general consensus ?

Penske with remote, ride height adjustability is my consensus.

Re: How to raise the back of your bike

I found the 6 mm shim made my bike twitchy and nervous going into bends, took it straight out again. BT021`s made things a lot bettter.

Re: How to raise the back of your bike

dammit i wish i saw that before i put mine one LMAO, i had the basic idea, but there was just a piece of plastic that was getting in the way of the U shim in from the opening pointing to the back (insterted from the front) but once it passed the lip, it dropped and worked perfectly... but it did take me about 30 minutes to figure out how to do it and wonder if i was doing it wrong LOL

Just put shim in a couple days ago. Must say I think it's vast improvement. Bike turns in much sharper now. Delighted with it. Oiling the chain's become a pain though! Rear wheel touches ground now on centre stand.
