| Forking Noises!
Hi all, I have a whooshing and twanging sort of noise from the forks. The noises come when you just move it slowly or hard and the forks go down and up. Took it to Honda and they dont seem concerned but its troubling me. Anyone else had this sort of problem?? Are there any suggestions to sort it that wont cost me a mint? Its an '04. Unrelated question - are there issues with replacing only the rear tyre and not the front? Steve | |

Hi Steve. To the forks, mine don't make any noise like you're describing as far as twanging. They do make a whooshing, which would be the oil flowing. As for the tire, no, there is no issue with replacing just the rear.

Check oil levels in the forks? .. Does it track straight? Is the noise coming from the brakes at all? ....

I often used to go 2 rears to a front, so not really.

Straight as a dye and no its not the brakes. It happens when you push the front down. Cant afford Honda to strip the front down and I am certainly not techy enough. Need to find a cheap tech! Thanks all. |

The fork inside uses some copper bushings that seem to get noisy as they get worn....
