I've done numerous tire changes on the bird but never noticed this before...

facing the front of the bike, there are two thick brake lines that travel down the side of the fender on the right side. One of those brake lines pushes in on the flimsy fender, causing it to gently rub the tire. You guys should at least make sure this is not happening on your bike.
From the front of the bike, run you fingers around the inside edge of the tire. When you get to the inside edge of the fender, the clearance should be the same on both sides. In my case, the right side has a paper thin clearance while the left has at least a 1/4 inch.

Yeah, the bracket that holds both lines is an inch or two above the right side of the fender, tucked along side the fork. Because the line is so thick, it seems Honda thought it would remain tightly tucked out of the way. I remove my front fender for tire changes and at first I thought perhaps I reinstalled crooked or something.

I just put a new fender on my Bird about a month ago and there are no wear marks on the old one but, I will look on my new one when I put new tires on the bike next time.
Thanks for the heads up.
Nothing sucks like wear marks where there are not supposed to be any.

I put my tie downs around the forks right at that bracket. I have noticed my fender twisting just as described. I have loosened the bracket and moved it away from the fender with fair results.
