Hey guys, Time for new rubber, Im on my second set of m3's i love the feel and the grip..it seems like the harder u push the better they grip. But they only last about 3 to 4k  . Been looking into the new pilot power road 2's, Has anyone tried them?Later Mike- | ||

I believe it's either the pilot power or the pilot road, not the power road. But I'm on my first set of Road 2's and I like them a lot, plan to put on another set.

PR2 is an excellent choice of tire. I will use them again and again. Be prepared to re learn how to ride your bike, as the steering response will be better!

Ditto the Pilot Road 2's. So far about 4000km's on my first set. Mixed interstate flat running and some twisty work down south. Dry grip is good, wet grip is very good (sad to say..but they got tested big time in the wet back in June). So far the tire profile is being maintained...no real flat wear spot down the middle as yet. I'm liking them very much. Tony

i run the pilot road 2 on the rear for a few months on the rear of mine. i run the pilot power on the front. it's a good combo, i think a quite a few of us run this combination. the PR2 is great, WAY better than the crappy dunlop i was running before, i have no complaints at all. i plan to run 'em again when i need new tires  thumbs up for sure.

Great tires... Im sold... nothing but Michelin for me. I have the 2ct on the rear and am finally getting a flat spot at 11k. With the riding I do it doesn't get better than that.

|  I am currently running the PR2's as well. Got about 1000 miles on them so far and I have no complaints.... However, my last set was Pirelli Diablo Stradas and I really can't tell any differance. With the 6mm shim, it turned in just as good with the Stradas as it does with the PR2s. I got 7000 mile out of the Stradas and the front still looks good. I put it on my VFR.

There was a Poll thread up here a while back and these were very popular. I haven't used them yet but may eventually give them a try. I haven't had the best experiences with Michielin bicycle tires so am a bit leary about using these on the bird, Lots of people like them here so I'm thinking of giving them a try next time I need tires. |

just installed another set of PR2's... man it's great to feel new tires again!! The expense is borderline robbery but that frustration fades quickly in light of the reborn handling. Gotta love re-tiring.

MPR2 was good, Dunlop Roadsmart was much better! More stabile, and less tendency to fall into the corners. The BB is a little too heavy for the MPR2 to be be best choice...... Also the braking with the Dunlops is better, you have a lot more front grip!

Helvet. I know that you have more experience with tires then I do. As I recall you are a distributor. I have been hesitant to try these MPR2 tires out due to bad experiences with Michelins with bicycle tires. With that being said if you look at the one thread that we have had running here that has a poll and a whole lot of posts on what people like best in the way of tires it seems that these MPR2 tires are the most popular with Bird owners. I've had a few bad experiences on Dunlops (not that particular model that you mention) on motorcycles and while you and many others feel that they are good tires I would have to say that I would be hard pressed to even give a new model Dunlop a try on my bikes.

I have the Pilot Power 2CT on my bird and love them, even though they probably won't last too long. My brother in law is very happy with his PR2ct's on his Bandit. I will probably install a set on my FJR1300 on it's first tire change.

I've been interested to try the PP/Front and PR2/Rear on my bike. I've had 3-4 sets of Pirelli Diablo/Front and Diablo Strada/Rear on my bike and really like them. They make the Bird very light on its feet. Only drawback is excessive flat-spotting on the rear from our straight SW Florida roads. You'd have to twist my arm very hard to put a Dunlop tire on my bike. |

I have had my Pilot Road 2ct tires on the bike for 5000 miles now and they still look like they are new. They hold the road like they are glued to it for the most part but, the rear will break loose under power coming out of a turn. If I get another 5000 miles out of these Pilot Road 2ct tires, I will not hesitate to buy another pair.

Helvet Hi, I used BT 020s', I liked them too much, I didn't feel any slippage, inclusing cold starts and street racing conditions. I waited more from the PR2's, but sometimes I felt sudden slippages at bends which I couldn't find reasonable. Tonight I came home back after 500 + 500 kms travel, PR2s' did the job very well. While I was sharing the road experience with my brother we discussed maybe Michelins want a bit more heat for performance excellence. I will try to understand your opinions about 'sideways movement of the carcass of the tire, which is a lot more with Michelin.'
