Has anyone made contact with HEL-USA (the brake line people) recently? I have e-mailed and phoned all the numbers listed and have not managed to get through to anyone. I've got mail out to the U.K. parent company but no reply yet from them either. Looking to do the XX out in there carbo-look lines and gold anodized fittings for the spring time.

If you can't get onto them, Goodridge also do a good full set of lines. I had a set on my '98. Buy Honda Motorcycle Goodridge Brake Hoses and Fittings |

Thanks for the reply. I know there are other vendors out there beside HEL,..but I've got my heart set on them if I go braided lines. At least at this point. I was just wondering if anyone had recent contact with HEL state side,..even for off topic bike applications.

Hello. I am a new member here and will contact the admins here. I am the new HEL manufacture in the east side of the U.S.A. If the members and admins agree i will give discounts on this and several forums im going to join. Its not my polisy to join forums to sell my products. I have a very popular after market web site and have no adds any where. But the previous hel usa has given hel a bad name so i want to clear that up. HEL Motorcycle Performance Brakelines |

I've been selling them in Holland for a few years, and love them.....
Are you willing to give me a quotation for 10 full sets (including clutch) for the Blackbird including shipping to Holland? Or are you not allowed to ship overseas?

This is posted to the old HEL site: www.helusa.com We have been put out of business by **************** in the UK. Their failure to keep accurate books and their inability to do business in an honest and legitimate manner has caused the complete bankruptcy of HEL in the USA. I do not feel as bad for us here @ Hel in the USA as I do for the customers and the relationships built based on complete trust and honesty. I have always tried to stay on the level with ALL. As far as the supplier (*** UK) it appears that I am the only one who was. To my customers.......I sincerely apologize. Addendum; My attorneys have advised that due to international laws we are basically SOL, but we have changed the names above simply for moralities sake. Even though we have been completely taken advantage of, we still cannot play like that. Craig No idea of what actually happened between the parent company in the U.K. and Craig, but at the time I dealt with him the service was excellent...sorry things had to end on such a sour note. What is the going rate for the 1998 Super Blackbird brake and clutch line replacement kit? The Honda listing does not show any Honda product last time I checked the new vendor site? Tony

Hey guy. Helvet. I can ship around the world to any one. And i can make lines for any bike. If i dont have it in the data base i can get your size and make them up. Give me a week or so to get it all set up. I am adding 1000 sq feet to my building and due to the huricane we have, all construction has come to a halt so im bcked up another week. This is the url to a small site that is dedicated for my HEL production. You guys can contact me directly there. H-E-LUSA motorcycle stainles steel performance brake lines There you will find info on brake systems how they work and instalations. and i will be adding all bike i have on the data base. But again if your bike is not there no worries. I make custom lines all the time for choppers and vintage bikes. I just put it up wed so i will be adding and fixing to mke it more profesionl. Any ideas are always welcome

I am interested.....
Please e-mail me a quotation for the Blackbird (10 lines + clutch). Depending on the price I am interested in a group-buy.

Goodridge sells a 9 line kit for the XX? Didn't seem like it on the link above.
Wouldn't mind HEL lines, provided they have the COMPLETE 9 line kit as I ditched everything off my bike (including the hard line under the tank) when I installed a Speigler kit 3 years ago. Improved brake performance, but shabby execution of a product (poor color on anodized fittings, and I didn't know they had aluminum banjo bolts), so I am looking for a group buy-soon?
As I recall the Seigler group buy kit was under $300.00 USD. I won't go for bling this time, just standard clear coated SS with SS fittings, etc. And hopefully a better set of installation instructions and fit that doesn't require military language to install. |

The HEL kit the I installed on my silver Blackbird was one of the first ones HEL made for the Blackbird. It is NOT a full replacement of all lines as the Spiegler kit did. The HEL kit replaces all RUBBER brake lines on the LBS system.... it expects/assumes the hard lines are still intact.
So unless HEL nowadays makes a full LBS kit that replaces every single OEM brake line on the XX, You might be you're outta luck.
Here is a link to the thread I did on installing the HEL SS Brake Line kit on the Blackbird in early 2007: The adventure begins - HEL Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit |

The goodridge lines are the same. They still utilise the hard lines. from front to rear & back. After all, they are already steel with no expansion under pressure. It is only the rubber lines that need to be replaced.

- Stainless steel fittings (also possible in anodise colours)
- Fittings can rotate inside the hoses to prevent unneccessary curves
- Outer hoses are also pressed inside the fittings to prevent water seeping in between outer and inner hose(you'll see brown discoloration).
- Possibility without price increase to change the length of all lines to your desire
Here in Holland HEL is a little bit cheaper than Goodridge as well. I'm not sure about the USA.....

Could it be your Dutch patriotism, is there is such a thing. I have had no issues with my Goodridge lines, they fit with the Heli bars, I've ridden in rain etc and they look as good as when they were installed. They work excellent with the Pazzo levers, and what good are other brands if you can't get them and they provide lousy customer service. There is a limit to "annalness". Maybe you make more money from them than from Goodridge. Why would Jaws sell them if they were so inferior to HEL? My 2cents.

I can make more money with Goodridge than with HEL (better discount for dealers). Also, no patriotism here: HEL is not Dutch but English...... The lines are assembled by the importer, but produced in England.
Customer service here in Europe is excellent. I"m sorry you've had some bad experiences in the USA.

There all good products. I have tryed them all and like Helvet i sell them and more. But i perfer the hel for many reasons. Since i now manufacture them i see the quality of the lines and materials compared to other brands. As for me and any hel manufatcture if your not happpy or if theres a problem with the line we will replace or refund full payment no questions asked. Plus custom sizes. I will not dog any brand I just go by experiance with the products i sell. Unless one has to replace there line do to damage or worn out. We do it for looks. Color lines look cool. Then we think saftey. After market are less money than stock and are much better. No question about that. But let compare apples for apples. I perfer HEL.
