LBS (CBS) Brake running

Hi !!!!

Somebody could explan me how LBS (CBS) brake works.
This is my first bike with this kind of brake system.

I feel the rear brake is not so efficient.
The front brake, i just touch and it brakes hard.
The rear I need to put a lot of power and i dont feel a good braking.
Is it normal or I have some brake problem ?

My other bike (CBX-750) has a regular brake system and when i touch the rear brake it brakes hard like front.

Thanks !!!!

OK... There are a lot of information there but the focus is de-link or not the system...

Me question is: Is the pedal ("rear break") hard ? On mine I have to put a lot of power with my foot for feel brakeing. Is it normal ?

Tx.

Do you REALLY want the rear brake to brake hard??? I believe that 70% of a bike's braking is from the front brake. If your rear is too sensitive You'll all to easily lock it up. Besides, applying front brake activates one piston (I think) of the rear caliper so you're already getting some rear braking.

Just think about it for a moment... You grab a handful of brake... The forks compress and the front tire supports more and more of the bike's weight. This means that the rear wheel is supporting less weight and will lock up faster with less weigh on it.

Personally, I've preferred a brake pedal that was adjusted in such a way that it required a Herculean effort to lock it up.

Re: LBS (CBS) Brake running

Ok, I Agree with you... So its normal to have to put a lot of power for brakeing with the pedal, right ?
I´m asking about it because its the first bike I have with CBS (LBS) and I feel strange this brake system.
The front is very very sensitive and the rear you can put a lot of power and no enought bakeing...

Do Your bike have this caracteristcs too?

I saw a draw of the system bake and I belive the front active 2 pistons on the front(each side) and 2 on rear.
The rear active just 1 piston on rear and 1 on front (each side).

Tx.

Re: LBS (CBS) Brake running

It's only normal that the rear brake is not as powerful as the front.........you only have one disk in the rear and two in the front. And the front diameters are larger (more leverage).

When you apply the rear brake, you activate the center piston of both front calipers and the center piston of the rear......plus the rotating action of the left front caliper actuates the two outer pistons of the rear caliper via the secondaty master cylinder.

If you have a Honda Service Manual, it's spelled out on page 15-10 and 15-11.
