    Nitron rear shock

Looking to replace the rear shock with a Nitron Sport Shock, has anyone fitted a Nitron shock to their bird?

    Certainly do, well remembered CB

Right off to my service records .................. I'm back

    Fitted mine 22nd February 2011

Miles covered on it 23562 (just over 2 years)

Finish still spotless ............ considering the conditions I've been riding in that is remarkable.

Checked the damping and operation yesterday (MOT today) still fine.

    My experience says
    stu56 and Reaper78 like this.

    Nitron rear shock

Now that Stu has his answer...

Holy crap, Duck, you pound some miles on, particularly considering its not your only bike. That's four years' riding for me.
Where are we going...and what am I doing in this hand basket??

    Re: Nitron rear shock

Fitted one of these a few months ago, got the hydraulic preload adjuster for half price on a special offer. Great piece of kit, the remote preload makes setting the sag a piece of cake. The shock also has height adjustment so no need for a spacer. Highly recommended. Ian

    Re: Nitron rear shock

I got the Nitron stock from Motorcycle | Motorbike Screens, Wheels, Performance Parts, Spares, Accessories. Tel 01773 831122. The hydraulic preload adjuster was half price at 90

I also changed the bottom link bearings (apart from the ones on the swingarm), the rear suspension is now really smooth and controlled. No more being kicked out of the saddle. Nice piece of kit. Ian

    Re: Nitron rear shock

Hi, I just ordered the nitron sport shock today and was wondering if there was anything else that will need replacing when I change over the shocks? I have already purchased the upgraded front springs from John at jaws, any help welcome, thanks.

    Re: Nitron rear shock

Suppose some anal sorts might suggest new fasteners should be used but tbh a dab of blue loctite should see you good so long as nuts and bolts are servicable.
With the bike on the CS access for the upper mount is great if you pull the tank off and thats the path of removal also iirc.
Consider taking the opp to regrease your linkage bearings and giving everything a clean while you have things apart.
Last thing to maybe consider is a spacer under the upper mount to increase ride height, assuming your shock doesnt have length adjustement.

    Re: Nitron rear shock

Cheers for that mate, the shock has height adjustment so that's sorted, I will do as you advised regarding the linkage bearings. Just glad I ain't gotta buy anything else, the mrs don't know I bought this so anything else and she will go mental! Mind you I do need to get some new exhausts...
