Depends on your definition of late. To me, the term late can mean summer around here!!!!!!!!!!

I have ridden in November, December, January, and Febraury. Riding in this time of the year is usually planned, like the DAY before. Any planning any further out than that, and you may have rain, sleet, snow, or ice, and NONE of those are any fun to ride in.

If home is Fort Hood, you should be able to get some riding in during October. That is some of the best riding time in Texas, IMO.

May be warm, may be cool, but shouldn't be too extreme one way or the other.

Re: Texans?

Well I bought the bike over the weekend. It is sitting in a storage building just north of Houston. I am going to fly down around the 23rd of October to pick it up and ride it back to Killeen. If anyone is near the north side of Houston we can link up for a Hooter's lunch and you can escort me out of town as I alway get lost in H-town.
