One of the guys I work with will be in Huntsville Alabama for six weeks starting in January 2007. He is willing to haul our bikes out there with him (he as a ZX14 - The blue one at NeXXt) and some of us were wanting to fly out and meet him for a ride. We were thinking of riding down to the Florida Keys, but we don't know what the typical weather is like around February. I don't think it is hurricane season, but what should we expect?

Depending on the weather, we may have to divert to somewhere else, but for now, Florida seems like a good idea. Of course, as it gets closer, I will post up for others who are interested in joining our expedition.

No, not hurricane season. Should be 60's to 70's during the days. No rain as this is the dry season. Keys will be a little warmer. It can get down to the 30's and 40's at night when strong cold fronnts move through.

Go to the Southeast SubForum and PM the Key West guy. Can't remember his name but he lives there and could be of help.

John
I am in Fort Lauderdale which is just barely north of Miami (20miles) and about 70 miles north of the Florida Keys.
chaserkeywest lives in Key West (southern tip of the Keys)
Best weather of the year in February, come on down. I have a queen size sleeper sofa that is always available. An air mattress if needed and Hot water

I'll be heading down there roughly about that time and have done it a couple of times before. Riding from Nevada and I will be looking forward to the inviting Florida winter weather. Pretty sweet all along the south from San Antone to Keys about that time of year riding during day light hours.
