Hey 1st post ever in the Southeast section.
Winter in Florida is our time to shine, cooler temps make it a lot more comfortable.

We dont have much in the way of twisty's but ,we have the biggest Cock Roaches in the country.

Anyone ever in the Florida Keys give me a shout ,we'll have a adult beverage and talk motorcycle stuff.

Hey, chaser, I just stumbled onto this section of the forum as well. It will take me awhile to get used to the set-up here.

I'm in Port Charlotte which is no where near Key West, but I'm open for a ride if you get anywhere closer. Thought about going down to Key West several times and the wife (a Miami native) says not to bother - I'd be bored to tears. Oh well, it's not exactly the Alps where we are, either.

Anyway, stay in touch if you plan to make it up this way.

No twisty's on the Over Seas Highway but, lots of curves in the local Thongs.

You may not be TOO bored!

I'll be up your way sometime,I go through the Glades to go west, maybe December or January to get off the Rock for a few days.

Yeh, I really need to leave the wife home if there's thong-viewing to be done.

You come up Tamiami Trail or come over on Alligator Alley?

Definitely give me a shout when you come over.

Been in Georgia for the last 13 years.
Did they ever repave Card Sound Road?
I used to go from Ft. Lauderdale to service x-ray in the different hospitals.
I also miss stopping for a sandwitch at Craig's Place, or going to partys at a friends house on Craig Key.

For those who haven't done it, a ride on 7 mile bridge at sunrise or sunset is great.

Usually when I'm going north I go Card Sound because as you know its pretty cool, relativily!

It's in good shape but north of the bridge/fish camp its still so so.

They are making the 18 mile stretch on US1 a 4 lane so the traffic will move faster from Homestead to Key Largo.

That make me happy because there will be less traffic on Card Sound RD

Ifell asleep once on my way home from Fishermans hospital and went out through the mangroves. I was lucky enough to wake up, and pull it back onto the road before the bridge. A couple days later, I was going back and looked for my tracks. I saw them in about four feet of water.
Four lanes, WOW. I know it will help with the snowbird traffic, but the charm of the keys used to be the slow pace.

Usta is right, I've lived in Key West for 36 years.

It's now what it is, no sign of what it was!

Just good fishing and bad women on the beach.

Good fishing and bad women and Rum.
