my pics

Moderators, do I still have pics on this site? I posted, My Favorite Birds and My neighbourhood. I can't find them. I lost my password awhile back and had to re-sign in after a request for my password. Am I having a senior's moment or what?Or are they floating in cyber space waiting for aliens for see them and hi-tail it to the ends of the galaxi?

Re: my pics

I had a look for you and found your gallery
CBRXX.com - CanadianBird's Album: My Bird, neighbour hood, and local rides.

But there are no pics in it..
If I remember correctly when the site was upgraded we lost alot of albums. I am guessing yours was one of them...

I hear that they are trucking snow in for the games. Too funny. Oh well you can't control it.

Re: my pics

And they dropped hay bales and pushed snow down from the top of the mnts. Now they are dropping dry ice into holes to keep what they have cold. If your city bids on the Olympics "just say no". Of course my dear friend Jimbob will disagree. Now we did spend a BILLION $ on security. Just incase the Taliban drop by to say hi.

CanadianBird... I live in Chicago. We just got done bidding on the Summer games. We made the final four but were the first ones out of the voting of the final four. We spent millions trying to get them. What a scam the olympics are. What a corrupt organization. This coming from someone who lives in the capital of corruption. Yes we know a thing or two about corruption around these parts. Thats what makes it even more shocking that we didn't get the games. Well thats OK. I was against them coming here. Just not happy that all that money is wasted.
The games themselves are a joke. I mean who the heck cares about most of these olympic activities. Anything that is judged is not a sport. Throw out all the figure skating events that seem to draw the most viewership. Why???? I'll never know. I'll watch a few things like the hockey. Some of the downhill stuff is fun.

Re: my pics

Isn't curling a Scottish "invention"? Isn't curling the winter version of lawn bowling? A big sport in N.Z. I'm sure the Brits are trying to get "Darts" into the 1012 Summer Olympics. And who really skiis and shoots a rifle at the same time. WW II, ok.
Strek, your city lucked out be not getting the Olympic rings, up your hoop. It's all a big corporate, read Coco Cola, make money scam. J, H, Chri-t, who needs a $1,000,000,000. for security? Stay tuned for further ranting.

I entirely agree. Outside of Hockey and a few of the downhill events I have little interest. Maybe some of the long track speed skating. The cost is one thing. Having to spend that kind of money on security is just crazy. If we had won the summer games I would have viewed in person one series of events. The mens & womens road bicycle race. And the time trials. That wouldn't have cost me much as its on open roads.

Re: my pics

One thing is for sure. Modern Olympic games fail to capture the essence of what they should be.
The Olympic games, were a time of peace and prosperity, spiritualism and excellence.
Nothing to do with the over-spending, full of drugs, show they put up every 4 years now....

Re: my pics

Most likely the most watched events in Canada will be the hockey finals hopefully between Canada and the US/women's and men's. However perhaps the Russians will surprise us. That being said, the women's team is amature and the men's team is professional. But, I confess, part of the hype was building the new Sea To Sky highway to Whistler, which is a lovely "toll" road full of tax collectors. By the by, I actually "cut and pasted" a vid of Vancouver on the Off Topic threads. I'm getting technical. lol
