need help choosing tail bag.

Ive been looking at a few different options, first gear have a couple that I like but I'm open to other suggestions.
If you look here:
Luggage > Tail Bags :: New Enough Motorcycle Hard Parts

I like the look of both the firstgear laguna and firstgear silverstone, the laguna looks smaller in the pics than the silverstone but the dimensions arent that different in the description. The silverstone has small leather pieces that go between the hooks and the bike to protect the paint but im not sure if the laguna has these. does anyone own either one of these that could comment?

Check out the Nelson-Rigg CL-150. I love mine. It's very spacious and has a nice shape. It has four mounting straps that keep it secure.

I have this one and like it a lot. It expands and has handy pockets. Comes with a rain cover.

Re: need help choosing tail bag.

I am using the cortech sport tail bag. I hook it under the seat and then stretch cords around my bungee post things. It won't go anywhere. It will hold a 12pack and a sweatshirt, plus. I will get a picture of it on the bike and post it to tomorrow....

Re: need help choosing tail bag.

I should have mentioned that im looking more for local trips than touring,(got a givi top case already).

How far back do your bags go, do they fit on top of the grab rail? the cortech seems to be one of the shortest so that could be a better fit for the rear seat but i like the flaps on the sides of some of the others.

My Cortech baggage set up (that I use for touring)

I very much like their system. The tailpack has flaps that are supposed to protect the paint, but the reality is that you'll need to do something serious about that if you use soft, quick attach bags.

After I paint the bike this winter, I intend to cover the rear cowl sides with heavy, clear self-adhesive book cover material to defeat rubs.

Re: need help choosing tail bag.

thanks for the help guys, after checking out your pics, i went with the cortech, its shape really seems to fit the bike and it looks good on the back seat or strapped to my givi rack.
