What do ya'll think about this brain bucket?

Roof Helmets from the UK is the manufacturer. Does anyone have any info about this helmet? I'm considering purchasing one but i have no way to touch or try out this helmet here in the states.

Re: What do ya'll think about this brain bucket?

Its not a offroader but reviews list them as pretty heavy at nearly 2kg's. internal sun visor apparently doesnt come down far enough either..

but other than that looks ok..

Well known manufacturer over here, .............but I thought they were made in France!
Generally viewed as making good quality front flippers.

Last time I checked, they weren't. No importer to the USA. However I have seen them in the wild here, so people are wearing them. Even though it doesn't have the DOT sticker, it's far better protection than some of the beanie cap DOT lids that cruiser riders seem to champion.

Re: What do ya'll think about this brain bucket?

If any cop saw that on a non full face or flip up helmet, they would know if a heartbeat it was fake. Or at least they should know. Snell only rates full face lids.

Then just get the DOT-only sticker. And I really doubt mosts cops are that helmet-savvy.

So what we have here is an open face helmet, with a chin piece that rotates, and a drop down visor...

I like the idea of the "Roof" would be good for around town and for smokers. Don't know if I would want to go down while wearing one though.

Re: What do ya'll think about this brain bucket?

Reminds me of the old Simpson helmet used by drag racers years ago. Different, but doen't quite crank my handle. To each their own. If it gets you jazzed, it fits properly and you can afford it, so be it.

Re: What do ya'll think about this brain bucket?

Seen these a few years ago, thought they looked real cool and they do. But I couldn't get one to Oz cause they didn't meet the standards for helmets here (think that has changed now though).

I still had a good think about it and don't consider it to be a 'viable' option for serious road use.

Do a google search on Roof helmets.

Your call.
