| heated glove liners and socks
There are so many items, brands of heated clothing that it is difficult to make a well informed choice, regarding the brands and types of heated clothing available. for example looking at glove liners and sock. Everyone has these fantastic claims about how effective their product works and the benefits you will gain from the use of these. What is the right formula, for example, I would like socks and glove liners, which brand ?, cost will usually determine choice but is it the best choice? Do you have to spend a lot to get a lot? Then there is 12V versus battery packs. The advantage of battery packs is you could use the socks and glove liners when at the snow or on frosty days outside. what are your experiences in this area | |

I've been using Widder heated gloves & vest for ~ 10 years, as I ride all year/weather. Problem is, the gloves are coming up for replacement after so long & Widder are out of te business now... I'm one of those people who just don't generate enough heat to keep myself warm when riding so I need the boost provided by the 'lectric vest & gloves. Otherwise by the time I've been on the bike for 15 minutes in winter my hands are so cold I can't move my fingers properly & I'm shivering, regardless of how many layers I try to fit under my jacket! Although batteries might be nice for off the bike, I don't usually need the heating then, so I'll stick with 12V cabled. Also means I don't need to worry about recharging them, or having them go flat halfway to work... |
