First time to really appreciate the Blinder M20 Laser Jammer, installed a few weeks ago.
Yes they really do work well
I now ride everywhere with the J & M Audio system plugged in.
Riding to work this morning on my usual route. Posted speed limit is 40mph along side a residential gated community. School is out so no kids waiting along the street for the bus. Holiday week so very few cars on the road.
Typical local cop radar/laser hiding spot coming up. I am running about 50mph looking ahead for the hand held laser gun sticking out from behind the row of Royal Palm Trees. Joe Cop with the Sunrise Police department has hidden his Hardley out of sight and sure enough is clocking cars as they go by.
Bout the time I think I see the gun bam! the laser jammer alarm goes off in my headset and the dash LED turns Red from Green and I get a frown as my MP3 Music is muted automatically from the Laser alarm.
I roll off and see Joe Cop step out from behind said tree still trying to aim better. I give a friendly wave as I go by at 38 mph. He does a half hearted return wave as he knows the Red Bird from my daily commutes, waves and Black Dog helmet Ears. I silently say Bow Wow as I go by!
The big grin returns as he gives up on the attempt and Nickleback returns to my listening pleasure .

Would definitely buy one as soon as I move out of the People's Republic of Kalifornia. Unfortunately, they are illegal in Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC.

There ain't much to see, folks. Small light and buzzer on the dash, and the transponder head is it.
Here you can see the transponder with the leveling tool in place to set the angle. Once its set, the level is removed and a cap placed in the hole.

Thats the one.
Looks the same on my Bird.
I will try to get some Pic's this weekend. Really busy this next week with end of the year taxes and such. I hate this time of year with owning two companys and doing all the book work for both. Gotta spend all my left over company funds before Sunday night for best tax credit !!

Seriously, though. Does anyone know if Canada has any laws in place about lidar jammers yet?

| Quote: What would Radar Rob do in Canada, Virginia and Washington DC? The same, except make certain that the detector is turned off when the cop approaches his car. What would Radar Rob do if he was a nice law abiding citizen and lived in CA, NE, MN or OK? He would use the RMR DLS312. The worlds fastest radar detector coupled with a Laser scrambler/jammer. There are no regulations on Laser jamming. Ok, I would have to live without the radar protection portion. To compensate I would want the fastest detector in the West. (more then 28,000 laser guns have been sold, is there one waiting for you?) | Hmmmm. |

After seeing John's post I wonder how many people are using them and do they really work. Does the Blinder cause a message of LIDAR unit being jammed to be display on LEO LIDAR gun?
Would you buy the Blinder if you didn't currently own one?

Doubtful. I generally behave around town and run barefoot as well. Once on the road, my V1 has served me pretty well although, even there, unless I am feeling silly, or in a traffic situation I am uncomfortable with, I'm rarely over 85 or so.

Yes they really work and work well on the Bird. they work better on a Bike than a car due to the reduced surface reflective area that laser requires for a signal return.
The laser gun does not get a good return signal to show speed so it appears that the operators aim is off. Just does not show a speed reading.
I have wanted to buy one for a few years but $400.00 just wasn't in the stars for me. I bought one second hand for $250.00 and it is worth the $400.00 price tag if you have Highway Patrol like we do that use them daily on the Interstates I drive daily. I just can't stand going 60 mph in a 65 mph zone mixed in with all the Gray Hairs. Motorcycles are suppose to be in the "HOV" lane, High Occupancy Vehicle, so I can make good time on the Bird with the Jammer going in the HOV lane. 80-85 in the HOV with confidence using the Jammer. When Jammer alerts roll off and brake to 65 till I pass the Trooper then back to 80-85. Trooper never gives me a second look.
If you live around alot of laser use then it is a good investment. A bit pricey but a good investment none the less.

I don't completely agree. I the lidar is line of sight the same as the M20 is.
As long as the jammer is within a couple inches of the targeted area, usually the headlight on a Bike, the M20 jams perfectly.
The only problem is if your helmet is targeted and it is to far away from the Jammer to give you any protection.
In a tuck the M20 gives complete protection and jams all the way to the gun on all the latest models that were available through Mid 2006. As tested by members on the other site as well as California Law Enforcement and a couple companies that test electronics as a business.
Specifically the BlackBird was used as the test motorcycle along with a number of cars and trucks. the Blackbird was the only vehicle to be able to Jam all six of the latest guns all the way to the gun. I have a copy of the test results that are available on the net for a price. I promised to not reproduce the test results in exchange for the 250.00 price. I actually received the same unit that was used in the testing on another members Blackbird.
I have done some testing myself, since I installed it, with known lidar traps set-up at known locations along my usual route to work. They always step out of hiding trying to get a lock on me. By then I have slowed down to legal speed and turned off the jammer and see them turn around and hide again behind a tree or other object and lay in wait for the next victom t come along.
If installed correctly they work perfectly. They will always give you enough time to slow down so that the lidar operator never realizes just how fast you were going. Granted if you are doing warp speed then the operator doesn't need a lidar reading.
I believe that I will never have to worry about getting another ticket by lidar for going 15 over the limit again. I can scrub off 15 mph in a couple seconds easily. That is all I need.
