I am looking for something to cover my neck and maybe my chin from the wind/cold weather, which is coming to Florida nights/mornings soon - anyone know where to buy one?

Cold weather in Florida? I didn't think there was such a thing.
I don't know what brand I have, but I use a balaclava. There's one here. You'd think the wind would come right through it, but it actually does a very nice job of keeping my head/neck warm in weather down to 20 degrees F.

I use a Oxford ""Chillout" neck warmer as a means to keep the wind out and off my neck. Sport riding gear that does not offer much of a collar or a tight fit around the neck makes this a must if your riding in the cooler weather. It's warm and yet extremely comfortable around the neck. The one pictured (on the extreme left) below is a somewhat smaller version of another Oxford design which can be pulled up over ones nose and mouth area. I have also installed their heated grips which work well also to help extend the riding season here in Ontario Canada.

We are both going to take a hit on this two FL types talking about cold weather - eat your heart out those of you on the wrong side of the Mason-Dixon Line.
But two options Aerostich wind triangle and winter silks balaclava. I use both in northern CA and was very warm and happy.
On another note are you going to be at Biketober?

Thanks all! Yes, I am surprised no one has really giving me crap for asking yet! But when the temps are in the 50s (or 40s), and I am going 65 (or more), the wind chill is enough to make it uncomfortable.
And if I decide to take a trip to Biketoberfest I will be sure to let you know!

I use a balaclava and neck warmer. Bought the neck warmer on e-pay, balaclava in a ski shop.
Makes riding year round possible for me. Layers, head/neck covering and grip warmers let me ride in 30ish weather even

My mask of choice is the Polar Mask II, I like the neoprene over my mouth and nose area. These things are about the most affective single item you can use for cold weather riding, makes a huge difference in comfort.

I just went and bought a 1/2 meter of polar fleece and used an overlocker to make my own double layer one. Wind and water resistant. |

Just a tiny thread highjack here, but can anyone beat -8 for coldest ride? I ride on Christmas Day regardless of the weather. Not far, mind you, just 25 miles to the nearest village and back. Nothing keeps you warm at 70 mph at -8. Nothing.

my mom made me one the first winter when i got my first bike (rebel 250) when i was 15
she used fleece for the inside, and that material for wind pants and jackets. she put some velcro on it, put a piece of velcro inside the front of my helmet by where you're mouth would be. and i tuck in the rest between the foam and the shell on my helmet all the way around. it's longer in the front and back so it tucks in under my jacket. i dont have it with me right now, i'm out of town for work, i would take a couple pics of it if i had it with me. it works great, she made me a black one when i got the blackbird, the old one was blue (yup, my rebel was blue).
i used it last winter on a 1200 mile ride in +-30F weather. helped out alot. and that's the coldest long ride i've done. talk about no traction on those cold roads. nearly shit myself when i fish-tailed a bit.

Here's one for ya, Catenaccio. I commute 160 kms per day. I ride, some years, from march till december. A few years back, I gave a neighbors kid a ride to the city for the last couple weeks of march. He remembers about 3 early mornings that we left with the thermometer on -10. ( did I mention it was a gold wing?) lol That was then. The last few mornings, at -1 to +3, seem pretty damn cold on the blackbird. Course, the wing wouldn't go over 300..... I use balaclava, it works. Now if I could just keep my fingers warm.... another thread, maybe? G

Actually, untie the red kerchief from your handlebar and tie it around your neck. Works surprisingly well on cool nights. What, no kerchief tied to your bars??? lol G
